Looks ridiculous but there certain things you cannot deny.
1. These things are popular in the sub-culture where these people hang-out and not dockers/khakis.
2. This is the only way they are going to get a chance at mating with the opposite sex and mate they do, going by the number of teen (and pre-teen) pregnancies.
3. These styles are made popular by celebrities so if Brad Pitt is going to wear news-paper boy hats all the time then it will certainly get picked-up by other people. If celebs are going to use fake tan, wear track-suits and socks on their heads like Beckham then it becomes a trend.
