You need what is called flash cart
i suggest you google for gbatemp
amazing forum with releases info, reviews of all the flash carts that are currently on the market
I myself am using cycloDS...its rather expensive then others but it does the job for me ohh and you also need microsd...I have 2 gigs and its plenty enough..most of flash carts come with microsd adapter reader, which you just plug it to your usb and copy games
EDIT : Are you going to buy ds lite or dsi?
It's safe to assume that price of nintendo ds lite would drop of DSI comes out in april

In order to play on a psp, you'll need to install a custom firmware. (CFW). To do this, you have to make sure you have an older psp (any of the fat ones, or most of the slim ones, but NOT the psp-3000). After that, doing a google search will provide you the steps needed to install the firmware. After that, it's just a matter of downloading an emulator and loading it on your psp. BTW..the slim psp-2000's with ta-088 motherboard are the ones that can't be hacked.

if you want the best flash cart to play roms on the nds...get the CycloDS... they are the best and have the best support too
i got my CycloDS and 4gb mem card..that hold about 70-80 games... i got the cyclods and 4gb for £35
you get a usb card reader with the cyclods and with the mem card you get a card reader too that slots into a mem card slot
Intel Core2 Quad Q8300
Asus P5N-E SLI
Asus ENGTX 480
4GB 6400

Or get a DSTT for like $6 USD and a cheap 4GB, or 8GB microsd card. Acekard2 is pretty cheap also, and a great card

Seeing as the DSi has an SD card slot, does it mean that it doesn't need any flash cart? I mean, couldn't I just load the games I want on a generic SD card?

No you need a flashcard that supports the DSi.

Oh, and I assume that there's no such thing as of yet.
I'm thinking of getting a DS but still having a hard time choosing between the Lite and DSi. I don't really care about the slightly bigger screens and the cameras, but the DSi has better hardware in it (faster CPU and more RAM) which probably mean better looking games exclusively for it.
On the other hand, the lack of GBA carts slot kind of sucks. But wouldn't I still be able to load GBA games on to it once a flash card will be available? Or is the DSi just doesn't support these games at all?

As I see it the primary feature for the DSi is the ability to download games off the internet, but as you're getting a flash card that feature is redundant.
Sure having two touch screens might be nice, but theres also the matter of reduced battery time of the DSi compared to the normal DS Lite to consider.

I don't recall any review of the DSi ever mentioning 2 touch screens.
In any way, the primary feature of the DSi in my opinion is the enhanced hardware. Twice as fast CPU and 4 times more RAM is a considerable improvement and could mean many DSi exclusive games.

my concern is that games might start using the two cameras but i suppose that would be optional features since they don't wanna bend over the people who own a DS Lite already.
And btw. I was hoping the DS Lite price would drop with the DSi released but seems I was wrong there O.o
At least here in germany it didn't
plus:
A DSi is still a DS so they can't make DSi exclusive games like I said Nintendo wouldn't want to fuck over the people who already own a DS or a DS Lite
what really stops me from buying a DSi is the lack of a GBA Slot since I'm pretty sure that thing was the only way to play GBA roms of a flashcart, right?

my options are limited without ordering overseas so i just wanna ask if you think DSTTI is recommended for Ds lite?
