Every google search I come up with has almost the exact same text, and a link to buy it. It sure sounds like a scam, and I wondered if anyone here had actually purcahsed it, or is indeed it IS a scam of some sort?

Thanks. I just ran across a forum post somewhere that it IS a scam, as all the things on it are freely available from web resources.. basically they just bundled up a bunch of free tools.

Yup, seems that way. It would be better if they gave more info.

ie; they show a box picture .. so if the media disk you pay for ends up installing homebrew for you WITHOUT the Twilight Princess hack, which no longer works AFAIK, then it might be worth it.

As it stands right now, the whole thing looks like a scam.

The twilight hack no longer works, or only works is your wii was updated over the internet connect? Our system isn't connected to the net at all, but If memory serves, supermario galaxy updated the system after twilight was released.

Funny.. your link lead to the exact webpage I had already opened in a new browser!

I don't have access to a Wii anymore, so I don't know how the update works .. all I know is what I've read, and that's "the Twilight Princess hack no longer works due to the latest update" -- whether that's online or from SMG.

I guess hackers will be scrabbling to find a new softmod now.

As for that site, if you want a definite answer -- email them. Ask HOW it works and whether or not it uses the TP hack. Also ask for clarification on the;

"Is it safe to update the machine?"
"Yes. ... but for safety sake, we don't recommend"

conflicting answer.

Hehe, agreed! Homebrew emulators on the Wii are pretty good, but they're not perfect - and require a lot of messing around (ESPECIALLY injecting unsupported games into supported ones in order to get them working)

Grab an Xbox1, softmod or modchip, install a ton of emulators (which all work full speed and with every game) - and run it at 720p via your plasma Smile

I'll keep that in mind. Is the softmod mentioned work without hardware modifications? Never really looked into the xbox 1 at all.

The reason why it's called a "softmod" is that you can mod your Xbox via software .. with no need for any other hardware fixes. You'll need a mempack though, as it involves using a hacked Save File -- and you'll also need a specific original Xbox title.

You can find all the info you need on Google. Just type in "softmod Xbox" and you'll get a ton of tutorials.

Cool. Might be worth looking into. I suppose I SHOULD get rid of my dreamcast, gamecube, PS1, and N64 though, eh?

You don't need no original game to do a softmod. Simply download softmod pack, connect xbox hard drive to pc and unlock it (google a guide on "hotswap"). Then delete everything on xbox harddrive using xplorer360 and copy over softmod files (a guide usually comes with softmod pack where to copy which files). I forgot which pack I used last time so can't give you a name.

This is really easy, you'll save yourself a lot of hassle. Basically it's connect xbox hdd to pc, copy/paste files, move hdd back to xbox, turn it on and done.

@Glottis

Wow. It's been a LONG ASS time since I softmodded an Xbox, I honestly didn't know there was now a way to do it without needing an AR and an original game. Thanks!

@Gareee

Here you go bud, a step-by-step guide on how to softmod WITHOUT the specific game or AR;

thats not true. injecting is only required if you want each rom as a wii channel. there are regular emulators which work as xbox 1 emulators by storing all roms on the sd memory card.

and for xbox 1 hacking: just buy an x3 modchip. they should be really cheap these days.

Your sources are out of date. Unless mine are :/ 3.4 is the latest still, right? Anyway, as of 3.4 it IS still possible to softmod, and having done one myself, I can say it's a very painful process.

Can anyone help me? My Wii is not updated - well, hasn't been for maybe 3/4 months (it's not been online). Ive got a wiikey and a copy of zelda... I want to get homebrew working (and more importantly, wiiware - world of goo etc). How do i do it? anyone got a good guide or anything? Does the TP hack still work? I assume as i've not updated my console I can still do it? Anyone fancy helping me out? Cookies for the helper!

if you've got a wiikey, no exploits/hacks are needed...just burn the homebrew channel on a dvd and install it - done. if you want wiiware, get the newest wad installer/manager and the wiiware games (wad format), put them on a sd card, install them and you have them as wii channels, ready to play. the only thing you have to consider are the file paths on the sd card, but there should be enough tutorials on the net about this. another option would also be to burn the wad installer and wad files on a dvd and install it from there.

Just softmodded my wii today and downgraded the firmware to 3.2 (from the latest 3.4) Don't know why people are saying it's really difficult/impossible or maybe there's been improvements over the past few months in the modding process?

I just ran the homebrew chan installer using Twilight princess, installed this other program which downgraded the firmware to 3.2 then a third program which gives you the option to remove the safety screens and stop any future games from messing with the firmware and that was it, 30 minutes and all done. Can also play GC backups from dvd now Smile
