I know there`s alot of dutch peeps in here so i tought i might ask... My friend and myself are going to amsterdam in april, any of you guys have some good tips to where we should go? I always tought it would be better to ask dutch people than just read guides and whatever.

What kind of a person are you? Do you like cultural activities and history, or are you, for example, a nightlife-party kind of guy? Or a stoner? Helps to know what you're looking for first.

nice to see people coming to Holland, but I think it´s better that I wont give you advice about Amsterdam...I´m from Rotterdam and let´s just say that Amsterdam and Rotterdam don´t mix Very Happy

We`re not stoners, but we do smoke Mj from time to time so coffeshops are a must, especially something thats not over-priced and touristfilled shitholes;) We would like to meet normal cool people that arent tourists themselves. So places that have the best stuff and prices would be nice to know.

Also we are going to be living at the HEM hotell, you know of it?

We`re musicians so if theres any interesting music scene anywhere... like here in norway there used to be some clubs where they would have "open stage nights" with all the instruments ready where you would just play with random people and have a good time.

We like partying yes, but not the Techno-rave ecstasy whatever type of thing.

Seeing some landmarks and other historical things are also interesting:)

me personally wouldn't even want to spend the night in rotterdam partiyng, i'm not eve talking about amsterdam Laughing

but if u eager for an adventure, sure come and visit, just make sure if any junkie that will approach u on the street and asks for money to get a fix, tell him to gtfo Wink

Advice #1, don't go there in april. I was in Ams in april last year and it sucked. Horrible weather all the time.

go on the 30th because than its queensday and a big big big party in whole amsterdam. You can see cultural things like van gogh museum or anne frank's house. But you can also party like there is no tomorrow.
