Alright, i have been in a number of tricky places (software wise Wink ) with my psp, but this problem is too big for me.

Tonight, i was busy creating a pandora battery/mem stick to upgrade a psp slim into a custom firmware. We tried a number of things, but non of them quite worked (1.50 kernel / fucked battery, i don't know why...). So here we are, after a whole afternoon trying, with only one option left. We gave it a shot, and in a hurry i run a program called "UPMSInstallerV4.cso" it runs, enables some sort of write function, and then reboots my psp. Into a black screen, after which it shuts down... So this is where the trouble starts.

I've got:

    -burning power light

    -Working recovery menu

-no sounds of a psp booting up

What i've tried so far:

-Using the recovery menu to initiate a recovery flash, Didn't work after about 20 secs of black screen the psp shuts down.

-Using psp flasher from the recovery menu, same result, i hear the umd in the back spinning, as if it is trying to boot a program, but after ~20 secs the psp shuts down again.

Situation:

- UMD is present in the tray

- A non modified 4 GB Memory stick pro inserted in the psp

- Power cable plugged into the psp

What am i doing wrong, and what could i do to get my psp working again...

Thx in advance!!!!

I think Hellcat's Recovery Flasher will help, since it's made for semi-brick situations :

Let us know.

EDIT: If it needs registration ... then register, or google for another guide. Make sure it's at least version 1.41 of the Recovery Flasher (that's the one in that page)

Nope didn't work, i placed the recovery folder in my psp/game folder, run the run program at /psp/game/recovery/eboot.pbp (from the recovery menu), screen turns black, i hear the UMD turning, but the console shuts down after a number of seconds...

What version of hellcats did you use..?..This is the newer version

http://forums.qj.net/showthread.php?t=143300

Put a copy of your sony update to the root of the memstick as hellcats will look for it there also..Name your sony update to the version you downloaded :IE 500.PBP or whatever the version might be and then try running hellcats again from recovery again.

Didn´t work, when i click run program at /psp/game/recovery/eboot.pbp the psp just turns semi black(with the screen and psp still powered on) and then completely shuts down.

I'm wondering, what could be the reason for the sudden reboot? it's something the psp has never done before.
