Far Cry patch version 1.3 and the Linux dedicated server are now available for download! Changes in patch 1.3 include:
* Fixed a crash with the ForkLift when loading some levels.
* Fixed a bug that prevented levels from loading after saving in a previous level.
* Returned surround 5.1 sound option to the menu.
* Fixed a mounted weapon traverse problem.
* Fixed problems related to shaders1.pak and scripts1.pak not being removed on installation of the patch.
* Fixed a delay relating to tagging enemies in binocular mode.
* Normal Map Compression.
* SM 3.0 and SM 2.0x are now enabled by default when graphics settings are set to ‘Very High’.
* Improved tangent-space calculation to improve bumpmap quality.
* Improved syncronization in multiplayer.
* Fixed bug in leaning with different player classes.
* Fixed an invisible wall exploit in mp_freighter.
* Please ensure you have your graphics cards latest drivers installed.

I was looking forward to SM3.0 support... I've got the recalled patch that had beta support for it (after mucking around and enabling it).

the patch is very good
u can activate hdr (high definition rendering )
with that the game looks much better!
a little better than doom 3 i think !
awesome !

I know they had quick-save in the 1.2 patch but then they recalled it, I tried this patch but no quick save am i missing something?

frames will get down about 50 %
works only with ati x800 or geforce 6800
in console !!!

i have the MYTH DVD RIP and the patch dont works , there´s a way or a register key ?

Works only on 6800. NOT on x800.

anyone knows why does my far cry run without grass and vegetation? the ground looks white-blueish and no vegetation. i have window xp, pentium 4 3gz and geforce fx 5200. i ran the game on my old pentium 3 800 on win 98se and ran ok!.
what could be the problem?

Depends of the game's video settings be sure bitmapping is turned on and your resolution is at atleast 800x600. (basically srew the default settings and crank every video option up as high as your comp will allow without triggering a seizure) The 5200 you have isnt much power compared to whats needed to run FarCry, also be sure to have the latest Directx and latest nvidia drivers. My brother tried to run FarCry on a 5200 and it was a mess.
