I've got a 9800gx2 and I got fucked with one of those "could of been put together better" cards or some shit, (thanks evga) and it sits idle around 75C and ive seen it up to 104C while gaming.
Right now my fan is set to run at 100% always and its sitting at only 5C cooler, 70C.. wtf?

my case has only 1 exhaust fan in the back so I have my side panel opened to let it vent some because this card vents from the side.

EVGA suggest I rma the card and actually have the RMA ready but I have a couple weeks before I send it off and was thinking of running the new card at 100% fan speed, is that bad for the card? i mean ive had this case fan for like 5 years and it runs at 100% and its still running... I just want some advice on what people think of running a vcard fan at 100%

thanks for advice in advance.

Well aside from the extra noise 100% brings, the only bad thing is because more air passes through, more dust will collect inside the card, and you will have to clean it with compressed air more often.

naturally it shortens the lifespan of the fan, which is already ridiculously low for stock videocard fans
i'm thinking you should run it lower and increase it if you're getting heat trouble
heat shouldn't have any effect on the electronics as long as it doesn't get hot enough to burn the circuit, but you'll have instability and visible image corruption way before that happens
