New tactical RTS game, following SHOWW2 and FOW. No base building no life bar on tanks, just fun.

This was buried under some generic Russian games thread. But i think it deserves is own thread now that the launch date is coming 20 February, and also a MP Beta.

Game site

Forum

where you can find the Beta, and usually the best place for news, moding etc.
MP beta registration is open:

Yep its a small game company/ publisher.
To get in the Beta you have to sign in- last link on first post - new keys will be issued shortly

As for tactical it depends on how and with whom you play. Anyway there´s a lot of improvements over the last beta IMO ( i´m playing the closed beta, that will last till the end on January)

PS: This will be the 3º Beta and final

Is there any type of cooperative play in this as well? I loved planning ambushes or surviving onslaughts with friends.

Also, in SHOWW you could fix up vehicle with a toolbox, that in MoW too?

Theres coop (on full game) and you can repair vehicles and guns.
Everything you could do in SHOWW was kept, plus more.

Great news.

I loved SHOWW2, replayed it several times. FoW I did not care for as much, too much focus on big battles and commanding big forces.

The great thing about SHOWW2 was that you had very limited resources and that you had to be mindful of how you spent them because they carried over to the next mission.

Gaming - Intel Quad Q9450 @ 3.2GHZ | Radeon HD 4870 X2 2GB | SB X-Fi | PC6400 8GB | 300GB Velociraptor

Server - Athlon 64 X2 4200+ | Radeon HD 3450 | SB X-Fi | PC5300 2GB | 4TB+ total space

Did you finish it? I would say there were plenty of smaller scale missions.

Heh, you won't think much of MoW then.
I've had the "pleasure" of playing the russian version of MoW( V tylu Vraga 2: Lis pustiny), and there's alot of focus on big battles and control of a shitload of soldiers...i usually just kill them off in suicide runs, as they tend to do more damage then good.
Besides that, there's a couple of very difficult missions which is placed high on the irritation curve.

I've been playing it alot the recent days here, and it seems to me like this is more of a Mission pack for FoW (Men of War consists of two expansions for FoW, in Russia).
Hopefully we're in for some extra's in the western releae, as i don't see the point in charging full price for mission packs

Usually i don´t care much for the SP part (FOW bugs really ruined it and made it unplayable until the patch came along) i will probably just play it on co- op.

From the beta, MP is very good and polished this time, mush more realistic than FOW.
Even if you look at it as an improved FOW with some more features, for less than 20€ (18 £ amazon.uk) you cannot say its a full price game. Anyway it already won my money

Coupled with the map editor/ tools available and the expected mods already in progress, i think/ hope Smile it deserved my pre-order - a very rare distinction

FFS what were the bugs in FoW? I don't recall any bugs.

And from what tillertow says, Men of War sounds like crap Sad I hope it changes somehow dammit.

If you liked the umpatched version of FOW you will love the new game! The out of the box version was nearly impossible in tactical mode (you played it in arcade mode?)

Mp video (need to watch in HD)

Yep, i played both tactical and arcade modes. So there is only tactical, or both modes in MoW?

With patches and mods, FoW was perfectly fine in MP. It was pretty fun too, although incredibly unbalanced.

There's Easy, Medium and Hard settings.
I play on Easy, and that's hard enough Smile

There's a Russian, German and Allied campaign and a Bonus campagin with German/Russian/Allied missions.

I did play a different mission yesterday, where you are the gunner on an armored jeep, FPS style...first one in a Soldiers game i think
