Hi guys and girls,
i've been watching these forums a multitude of times whenever i had a problem with one of my games during play. And usually the answer was somewhere to be found over here.
But now i'm apparently the only one with this current problem, so I'm looking for help.
It's about the game Mirror's Edge. It plays fine up until then notorious chapter 3. Yes
I have all the proper software (even the 1.01 update and the intenden .exe for it)
But I don't suffer the bugs all of the other players ever seemed to suffer from (the walking, slowmotion etc.). My game just freezes, black screen, and the VPU recovery program kicks in... Saying my Display Driver failed to respond and had to be reset. It immediatly goes back in game, but also fails imediatly after that. I'm lucky enough if i can alt-tab to task manager and shut it down...I've tried updating my drivers to 8.12 (I'm using an ATI HD3870 OC) but to no avail.
Naturally the first problems with PhysX appeared early, so i turned that off.
I Don't know what much else I can tell you, chapter 3, chasing mr. Jacknife and at the very same spot (3rd or 4th jump or something, the big one onto the blue scaffolding) the game just freezes and the screen goes black. It's never happened before in the game, so that's why im with my hands in my hair.
For all you solvers my system:
AMD Ahtlon X2 6000+ 3,0 @ 3,2 ghz.
4 gigs of ram
ATI/AMD Radeon HD3870 OC (core clock OC'ed @ 890 mhz and mem clock OC @ 1390 mhz.) Problem persists in OC'ed state as well as in normal state
Windows XP Prof. SP3 (nlite version, Retestrak release)
... Anything else? Please ask, i'll be keeping my eye on the posts so i'll try and provide as much information as i can.
Thank you so much in advance.
