on ps2 you can play any GH with the same guitar, so it should be ok for the wii too.

Cool "guitars" bud
But still, I dont see the point in play "guitars" in like a videogame.
I'd rather learn real guitar.
But hey nouse, if you enjoy it brother, all the power to ya my friend.

for fun ofc
I tried to learn real guitar (besides just playing power chords on a cheap electric like in high school) ... didn't have the patience or time to learn and eventually gave up.
I don't think the point of these games is to replace playing an instrument ... it's just a different way to enjoy the music a bit more interactively |
Fair enough bud

Nice. The thing with these kind of things, if you take them too seriously you will not like them. If you accept them for what they are supposed to be for (mindless fun for a group of friends on a sunday afternoon/evening) you will love it.
It's kinda like the arcades, when you go in you know how much time crisis and house of the dead 2 have sucky graphics and well, are generally pretty bad games, you still cant help but play.
On another note, I would love to learn guitar. But I have no idea the best place to start, and I would never 'pay' some random to give me lessons.

dude, go to a local music shop, buy a beginners book on guitar and thats how you learn. It teaches you all the cords, has lessons etc. then you move on to more advanced books...not hard to learn to the guitar...in terms of material that teaches you and stuff. Just dont expect to be playing a solo in your first month of learning.
When you begin learning, its boring as fuck. Cuz you need to practice finger movement and placement and sliding up and down the fret board.
But it gets more fun
