My friend's laptop's HDD is having troubles (He uses Vista x86), when I try to boot it up it gets to startup then starts the Startup Repair thing (Can't remember the name now, I've never used Vista myself, waiting for 7) but it fails every time, the HDD doesn't turn up when I insert another Windows OS (XP, 7), when I use BartPE the HDD doesn't turn up (My first time using it, dunno if no HDD turning up is normal), when I use TestDisk in SystemRescue CD it comes up with the partition (Haven't seen any useful options after that, write to disc but that doesn't do anything), was wondering if there was any programs that would help or something I'm missing or should I just get him to send it to an actual PC shop?
