In Sweden we had something in school called "Roliga Timmen" or "Funny Hour" on Fridays (talking 1-6 grade here)...sort a reminds me of that .

At mine USSR school days we didn't have "funny hour" days, but we had "masquerades". Crazy event I might add. The idea was great, but the realization sucked. Pupils had to come to school with homemade cookies, pies, etc. wearing home made costumes. Then one by one everyone described who they are in a costume of theirs and what dish their mothers cooked. After that everyone begin to eat cookies with a black tea. Dancing was highly forbidden
