So, i recently bought a laptop - Amilo Xi 1554 - and i now have a problem with the internal wireless NIC disconnecting from the network after a while, then it doesn't find any networks anymore. I restart the laptop and then it works perfectly again.

Tried disabling the connection and re-enabling it. Tried turning it off with the hardware swtich, then on again. All that works is the restart.

Latest drivers & unchecked the option that lets windows disable it to preserve power (i use the charger anyway).

Please help a laptop newbie Smile

Just some more info: The "device disconnected"-sound plays when it dosconnects, and the WIFI-LED is turned off. But Device Manager still shows it as working..

is it intel? on my sons laptop with internal intel wifi i had to set it to 10mbits or it just disconnects after a short time Rolling Eyes

Yup, it's a Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG.. Thanks for the tip, gonna try it!
