To Twice, the reason why I got my 360 is to keep me in, and not go out everynight spending money I don't have ......
To VGAdeadcafe on the NXE update thread in the games I posted my weariness of updating after what happened previously, but I was assured my console dying wasn't anything to do with updates just coincidence .... but now it's happened twice.
Fuck it, at least my girlfriend knows what to buy me for xmas, hopefully those Jaspers are doing the rounds now .... My 360 that just died was a Falcon.
It pisses me off I'm gonna buy something for a 3rd time, when I more or less know it's gonna die again ......
If only the PS3 was cracked or the Wii had some good games ..... Microsoft got us by the balls

Oh and I'm never updating shit ever again online, and will never put my new 360 online ..... I could be paranoid and it might not have anything to do with it, but I'll sleep easier at night.
I'm sure Micorsoft can send viruses to kill consoles via updates .... they wuldn't do it in europe or America, but in 3rd world countries where piracy is rife and their console isn't even released there officially .....
Fuck em, can't live with them, can't live without em

i still cannot understand, that people belive the update = rrod.
Let's make an exsample here, thumbed down;
You buy yourself, lets say,a Ferrari. It runs great and all, but still there is something missing.
So you decide to get a new muffler or a pair of new headlights or similar thing.
You get them from the not so trusty source and not the factory parts or anything, so the dealer wont be responsible for those things at all and they fall under no warranty.
Reqular maintenence comes up, you take your car to the workshop and they see, that you have replaced the headllights or what ever - and they destroy your engine for that and take the sledgehammer and smash letters "TAMPERED" on the hood.
That sounds completly reasonable now doesnt it ?
Can you even emagine the problems they would get into, if this came out to the public ?
They would bleed money, on all the sold units, just becuse "you are not renting it" and destroying someone elses property is still considered against the law.
If you are afraid of the RROD, dont open your box. It is as simple as that.

Ok to answer 2 of you ....
1. Lollhelm, I admit it sounds very paranoid of me, but the 2 times I updated both of my 360's 1 died straight away, the other died in 5 days ..... I am living in a place where the 360 is not even released, and most probably has the highest piracy rate of any country in the world, for them to kill some 360's where it isn't even sold could seem feasble, as there would be no come back, as we haven't got a leg to stand on ..... again living in Bangkok where the heat is ridiculous cvould be a more important reason.
2. Syco you twat, I own a PS3 and some games for it, but there are not that many good exclusive games on it ........ and when the cost of 5 PS3 games cost the same as a 360 Arcade, I'm gonna keep on buying 360's

mace999 wrote: | Hi,
I'm fucked off at the moment, I'm sure Microsoft can disable 360's and fuck them up through updates. Last year after an update my 360 died straight after downloading the update. Now my Falcon 360 has just died 3 days after updating to the NXE, my 360 was running perfect until an hour ago and then bam I get the E73 error, which I've looked up is an ethernet problem, but no one really knows why or how to repair it.
I'm sure Microsoft can kill your 360's with their updates, I'm sure they do it only to 360's that are say their ISPs are in a country where the 360 isn't even released and piracy is rife like my homeland Thailand .... This is twice now on 2 different 360's straight after doing an update.
Anyway got any ideas on if it's easy to fix ...... I can't send it to Microsoft as like I said it's not even released here in Bangkok
Fucking Microsfot, why hasn't anyone cracked the PS3 yet |
Try removing the ethernet cable and HDD and turn it on. Right after it shows the E73 error, turn it off and then immediately turn it on to see if you get a different error code. E73 is caused by a cold solder joint under the Southbridge or the ethernet chip. It can also be one of the solder joints that lead to the GPU.
Reflow the solder (750F degrees should be fine) and concentrate the gun on the Southbridge/Ethernet chip area.

Thanks Time Change it's getting fixed now by my local Thai repairman, E74 is the error most people get here.Hopefully it'll come back and last for a month or two .... then hopefully I'll be able to get a Jasper board.

I got RROD with a first gen modded XBOX. A local guy here reflowed each chip with an actual reflow workstation and it has been running like new ever since.
I update my box every time there is a new update.
I think you just had a really bad case of coincidence.

its probably cause of the heat in bangkok your console gets more hotter to.. solution might be is to put a few cpu coolers under your console.
