I'm graduating from high school next year and I've been thinking about what to do next. Since the educational system in my shitty country sucks so much I've decided to go... well... somewhere else.

So what's the best place for foreign students? Oh yeah, the only language I speak fluently (except Bulgarian) is English. I'm a swift learner though Razz
Thought having so much different nationalities on the forum makes it a good place to ask about this. Any information will be highly appreciated. Smile

Come to Britain mate, we will pay for anyones education despite the fact they have no intention of using the skills gained in the U.K Smile

All jokes aside, we do have free education for all. Except working class natives who pay through the nose for student grants.

Sounds cool Laughing I'm actually not intending to return home after graduation. Eighteen years living where I do make any normal person want to leave and never go back.

in Canada tuition for international students is pretty high, like ~$18-20K per year (3 times what it is for Canadian students). although it can be even higher than that ... for instance if you look @ http://www.findoutmore.uwaterloo.ca/financing/expenses.php you can see engineering is $25K per year and pharmacy is $30K per year for international students!! keep in mind as well that is JUST tuition and doesn't include any books or living expenses.

Bulgaria isn't actually that bad for studying, if you get into a good University. I was considering studying for my degree over there (either in Sofia or Plovdiv), but for various reasons that didn't happen.

I've also heard that studying in Vienna (Austria) is also great.

I dont usually recommend my home country for anything but yeah, we do have a pretty good education system. Apply for Oxford, Cambridge, Lincoln or Aberdeen university in the UK/scotland

Smile I wouldnt bother applying to Oxford Or Cambridge unless you have a very rich daddy who has all the right connections with 'the old boys network' in the U.K. those universities are all about who you are, and nothing to do with your academic abilities. But we do have some outstanding universities for the not so priviliged part of the population.

Listen to me m8 Wink

I was in the same situation as you are now 2 years ago.
Couldn't be arsed of going into uni at one of uni's in .pl so I decided to hook up somewhere else.
After some twisted months I landed in Aberdeen as student of University of Aberdeen.

The best thing about doing a degree in Scotland if you'are a EU national are following :

- You don't have to pay a single penny for your tuition - SAAS will cover it up for you.
And it only takes 10mins to fill out the forms online and bang you're ready Wink

- You can actually learn something useful Wink

- Etc ....

Any questions ?

I've always thought Sweden is a nice place to live (don't know about studying), only problem being the language. Found out there are a lot of programs in English though. Britain is kinda... meh. Bad weather, strange accents Razz. Dunno... got some time to think about it so we'll see.

And yeah it's way too expensive in North America. The first place I thought of was the US but even the worst school there charge too much. Will probably have to repay loans till I retire.

Yea I thought that same. But to be honest is not such a bad place to live in.
And if you're talking about strange accent you have to visit Scotland then !
I'm telling you m8 once you hear it you don't want to comeback for me Wink

Trolldeg : Aye ok you're education its free then but you isn't it all in Swedish ? Smile

Actually when you live among ppl who speak an unknown language you just start to pick it up. Also I like foreign languages... too lazy to learn by myself though.

Okay, first of all sorry for reviving the thread.
I decided on Sweden and was hoping some of the swedes here could help me out with something. From what I've read online it seems that the deadline for applying for bachelor programs in English (or does it matter?) is 1 February, is that correct?
Thanks in advance.
