As part of coding an RSS client bot for my IRC network recently, I was using NFOrce's feeds as one of my tests.
I noticed that the XML files are updated very frequently, exactly every 5 minutes, whether or not they've actually changed.
This wastes bandwidth because RSS clients can't just send an HTTP "If-Modified-Since" tag and get a 209-byte "304 Not Modified" response, they get the entire XML file because they don't realize it's the same thing.
I would suggest using an RSS feed generator that checks if things have changed before overwriting the file, it reduces the size of each update by around 3500%.

I notice this still hasn't been fixed...if you need a hand with it, I'm a programmer, specializing in C/C++ for Linux, the Internet, and have experience with MySQL among other things. You've got my email address, just let me know.
