Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has announced the availability of a playable demo of its forthcoming PES 2009 title for PLAYSTATION®3, Xbox 360 and PC on 2nd October.

Due for release on 17th October, PES 2009 marks the triumphant return of what is regarded as the most realistic football title for any format. Users will be treated to an expansive playable demo of the new title, with the bespoke version offering a full five-minute Exhibition multiplayer match.

Players will be able to select fully licensed Manchester United, Liverpool, Real Madrid, and Barcelona club teams, or the licensed Italian or French national sides. The demo will allow users an early taste of the all-new elements set to further bolster PES 2009’s reputation as the definitive football game. All new visuals with completely remodeled players and animations, and new physics routines to ensure the ball behaves more realistically have been included, while the AI of the CPU sides has been enhanced to provide an ever evolving challenge.

The PES 2009 demo will also include promotional videos detailing the new game’s ‘Become a Legend’ and online ‘Legends’ modes, which see the player controlling just one player within a team and attempting to forge a career in football. Starting as a promising 17-year-old, players must force their way into the first team and produce a series of blistering performances which will ultimately result to a move to one of Europe’s biggest sides. Or, on the flipside, poor performances can see a player struggling in the lower leagues and eventually being released…

That is cool! if there is a option that you would be sold to a lower club Smile

This year fifa vs pes, hmm i dont know, gonne try both.
fifa 08 was cool, online and offline, but pes2008 only was cool to play with some friends and some beer, because the online part was to laggy..

ps : haha xboxrippin, funny to see you open this topic Wink

I bet it is Razz but I am still a football fan 1st and I think I will enjoy PES2009 if it goes back to PES5 style which they claimed to have done if that is the case and the be a legend mode is good/difficult and I can build my players stats for online play once I am annoyed/bored with fifa 09 I can stick on PES Smile

Demo is out, unfortunately, it feels very much like last years. It's a bit slower and a graphics are a bit better, but it doesn't feel like a game of football. At all.

It's not shit, but gameplay is worse than old PES games (before they took it 'nextgen'). Only the most ardent PES fans will enjoy it - myself, I will be playing FIFA with tears streaming down my face.

Still has the precision that I don't see with Fifa... Like fighting game level control over the ball, where it goes etc.....

This could be because I'm not good enough at Fifa I suppose, played 08 quite a bit though...

The long passes in pes are almost impossible to get right. In fifa works like a charm.
Pes is feeling a lot more limited than fifa

hmmm i have to say i enjoyed the demo, i thought i had more ball control, it looked a bit better and overall improved over 2008 which i also played a lot. I just honestly cannot get used to fifa, the way the ball moves in that game is just wrong, i dont think I will ever get used to it.

fuck ...

i thought the demo was ridiculous..i used to love all the PES games so I am not one for graphics makes a good game but it looks like a PS2 game...For the gameplay itself I thought it was clucky at best and somewhat unresponsive. The players bodys and the running animations also looked terrible..I will judge it properly when it will be released but so far the game is a massive let down...whats even more unfortunate for the first time ever since ISS PRO days I was expecting it to be crap

Please. Graphics are extremely good. It's a very Japanese, clean angle style that has been present since the originals - but they are very good nonetheless. It beats FIFA in regards to player differentiation from a distance - they all seem to blend into blobs in FIFA (comparatively speaking). And while some might like the overdone postprocessing effects, I have to say I hate them. I'd much prefer the clarity of PES to FIFA's GRID like appearance.

...still, gameplay is where it is at, and with PES it is officially broken as far as I'm concerned. It's unresponsive, clunky and far too slow. Playing I feel completely disconnected. There's been numerous occasions where players just don't respond, or glitches in the animation prevent me from getting a loose ball. It's really awful how bad it has descended.

Hook up the old PES games (PS2/PC) and it's back to the glory days... but what have they done to PES on nextgen Sad FIFA finally wins a round, and the arrogance Konami show in marketing suggests this might not be the end of it...

I totally agree here. Theres a very slow transition when players change from possessing the ball behaviour, to not having the ball behaviour.
And then the players just stop responding to the commands...
