what would you do in my case?
can you give me basic info on how ebay works?
i pay for shipping?
how do i package hardware properly because i dont have original boxes anymore?
i pay a fee to ebay for listing each item for X amout of time?

tbh I doubt you will get that much $$$ for that, hardware has fallen so much in price recently... you'd probably be better off trying to put all of that in a case and sell and actual computer instead of just the components.
not sure where you're from either, but craigslist.org is another option ...

in canada
well i wont sell it as a PC because i'd have to buy a case, keyboard, monitor, power supply, soundcard (unless u want onboard), hard drive...
parts could be sold individually or take whatever you want too
i'm gonna check out this kijiji.ca
any tips on how to figure out what all this hardware is worth right now?

With that system, especially it being single core, you wouldn't get more than 500 bucks if you sold it all together.
The AMD FX doesn't really sell more than 50 bucks. Same with the motherboard.
You'll have a better chance putting it in a case and selling it for a couple hundred to a friend or donating it.
Or hold onto it for a few years and when it becomes true legacy hardware it'll be worth gold.
AMD XP's sell in the 100's from the socket A on ebay now.

Why do you want to set a "Buy it now" option anyway? Just put it in for bidding. You don't seem to need these parts anyway, so you could just see how much you get for them. Waiting will just make them worthless...

That processor might still be worth something (dont' know how much) to hardcore OCers. The FX-55 was the proc to have in the good old days of AMD domination. Too bad they were no different from Intel with their 1000$/cpu prices.

any specific suggestions?
i think you can put it up for bids and also set a "buy it now" option
how long should i set the bidding session for?
should i include everything as 1 package?
or everything individually?
i would only allow shipping to canada...
so should i pay for shipping?

By setting a "Buy it Now" option you are limiting yourself to that price, because nobody sane will bid more than that.
I would put the parts in individually, like CPU on it's own, motherboard seperately and GPU as a single auction as well.
Then you can write in you auction that you sell different pieces, and that people will save money for shipping if they bey more of them. And I wouldn't pay for shipping if I were you, why would you? Usually the buyer pays the shipping cost.
For the duration: 10 days is quite good when you start at a Wednesday or Thursday, because then you have two weekends in between, where more people use Ebay than during the week. But make it at least 7 days so you have one weekend minimum.

one trick I like to do, as a lot of people do, figure out what it's going to cost ot ship it, factor that into the price, but maybe a couple dollars cheaper, then put free shipping. People are suckers for free shipping. Even me. If you get too crazy people will realize what you did. But if shipping is like 10 bucks, charge maybe 6, but factor that into the selling price.

actually it seems to me that most people ask ridiculous prices for shipping.

whats funnier, look up the nintendo DS, people ar eselling it like 20 bucks more expensive than lets say, going to an actual game store like gamestop, then messaging the person saying how stupid they are. I've had some funny answers in the past.

Yeah, some people pay nearly the same and sometimes even more for a used product they could get for new...
