lol no!
The only good thing about razr is that they are so thin. They are not reliable at all though. Plus their batteries suck and you have to recharge pretty often.

Well, I guess you were lucky
Almost everyone I know who bought such phone, had it broken or some function stopped working after a while.... |
really?
cause Ive dropped mine a few times at work and stepped on it once and it still works fine. And like i said, i rarely have a dropped call or have anything weird happen

I also have that one, and yes WM is real nice. But the phone sux! Its sooooooo slow, even with the newest firmware its still slow, and crashes once or twice a day... And the battery must be recharged once or twice a day also.
Well I got it for free, but still... Wont recommend this one |
Slow because you use the default ROM. Mine is very fast and never crashes.

Sony Ericsson, owned several, never let me down, battery life is so phenomenally good its unbelievable, also recharge time is so minor, it leaves others in the dust. Good phone, good features.

I've gone through almost everything, N95's, iPhones, HTC Touch's and every other smart phone. I came to a simple conclusion - it's not worth carrying around a $400-500 phone when I treat it as if it was my 2 year old child. If I was a careless douchbag that likes throwing his money away I'd be fine with owning any of those phones but I am a perfectionist and even the tiniest scratch upsets me for weeks on end. Plus keeping something mint for resale value is important.
I'm using a old Nokia brick now that I can throw at a moving train without worries. I can do without the 5MP camera, Wi-Fi and GPS as I've also learned having dedicated devices for each is overall better.
BTW: Yes stay away from the Razr, even the v3 or whatever is latest.

And I'm sure it still works great (my 2110 does)... But with every newer phone, the life expectancy has been lower and lower.

I have Nokia 5310 and I'm happy with it. Camers sux, but I don't use it that often. I use it like MP3 player and for SMS, and the battery holds for 5 days, when I listen to music every day for an hour... I love Nokia...

buy Nokia or Sony Ericcson , simple and efficient ..
if you go with SE , looks for K series or W series for long battery life (at least 6 days )
Nokia is realiable , but if you're looking for something rather simple , don't buy one with Symbian , or you'll be having some hard time after a while
LG , Motorola's are mostly shitty , some looks good and shit but they're not realiable , RAZR was a fucking mess , color would fade after one year or less of carfull usage.
Same goes for Samsung, they're simply aren't built to last , in less than one year it'll be wrecked , and the camera and overall useage isnt really to my liking .
i feel sorry though for some saps that buy new gadgets even though they don't really need them , a good example is an iphone and you're only doing some talking on it .
and fashion phones that can't do squat and they're expensive as hell , like the Vertu series
here's a list of the crap i had
Alcatel OT320
Nokia 5110 x 2
Nokia 6110
another shitty alcatel
Nokia 1110
Nokia 3310
Samsung X450
Samsung D500
Nokia 3650
Sony Ericsson W810
havent changed the W810 , and i bought the damn thing almost 3 years ago , and it's a very realiable phone , battery life still hold for about a full week or more .
no need to buy something newer , since it's not big or really heavy , and it still works like new .

After I broke 2 SE W810s within a few months of each other (dropped one in a fountain, the other in a pint of beer), I now use a cheap piece of shit W300 I got for free.
W810 is a pretty decent phone with a decent mp3 player ... camera is only 2 mp but camera phones suck anyways... can be had for ~$160 USD...

drunk in vegas, went wading in the fountain at the Mirage, forgot the phone was in the breast pocket of my shirt, I tripped over some hoses or some shit under the water and fell in, phone = dead.
drunk in a bar, low light so I wanted to take a picture in night mode, balanced the phone on the top of a pint glass, rounded edges = fail, phone falls into beer. not quite dead but not really functional.
so yeah, no more expensive phones for me obviously. actually I made a thread about it in the bitching section when the second one happened

yeah, i remember that one. I couldnt help laughing, when i read it
on the topic of cellphones. I have a motorola razr v3x and like it. It breaks pretty easily and the mp3-player isnt the greatest, but i like it. Wouldnt recommend it to people who telephone alot with it though like a friend of mine who went through 3 of those in a year. He got em replaced always, because he is paying so much for his phone-costs that they could throw him a party every second week But well, if you like to abuse your phone, dont go with a motorola razr v3 =)

i have that exact phone and ive dropped it a few times, stepped on it like i said in this thread earlier....when im out and come home, i toss it on my coffee table or on my dresser and it works fine still.
The only reason I got v3 is cause I wanted to upgrade, I also have the original that still works and took alot of punishment.
Yet, ive had phones that have that rubber padding and shit and is supposed to break proof and I remember I was drinking one nite with my friends and I was sittin in a car and someone called me and afterward I put the phone on my lap and forgot about it and stepped out of the car and it fell...the phone didnt break, but the screen cracked like a piece of fragile fuckin crystal and while it still works, walking around with a phone with a cracked screen is ghetto.
Yet with the razr, Ive dropped it while open on the screen side and not even a scratch.
Maybe I lucked out and got a good one. But still, rarely drops calls, works fine etc

cool. That gives me hope that mine will last a bit longer also
Might just be my friend who needs more "torture-proof" cellphones then
