thats why I hate MTV and in Canada, MuchMusic.
You watch MTV lately? they hardly play music video's. Its all these shows geared toward teeny boppers.
I remember when MTV/Muchmusic was all about music vids. They'd play tons of nirvana and stp and alice in chains and shit. Ah, the good ol 90's. My favourite decade for numerous reasons.
Now music is all commercialized. They get some hot girl, dress her up like a whore, teach her to dance like a stripper, alter her voice so it sounds good and have her sing some song that makes no sense but has one catchy line that 14-17 year olds will remember.
That song by Rhianna Umbrella is a perfect example. Music is dead nowadays. Even "rock". Like come on, Good Charlotte....fuckin queer bag fakers. Nowadays if you have a tatoo, dress in black, have a chain hanging from your belt your a "hardcore rocker"
The only style of music imo that is still true is metal...and only certain types of metal. They havent sold out that bad yet.
But take rap. I remember when rappers actually had something to say and did social commentary. Nowadays its who has the most money, the most drugs, most guns, best cars, best hoes, best "bling" and who's the biggest "nigga".
Like fuck, listen to some rap. All the songs are about the exact same thing just sung differently.

ahh c'mon Syco we all know how much you enjoy a nice evening with som Lil Wayne & Soulja Boy ^^ Terrible just terrible music, though I have a feeling that MTV is trying to find their roots once again especially with the more rock oriented programs (which features Alice in Chain, Iron Maiden, Nirvana and such)

oh yeah, i cant sleep at nite until i listen to some soulja boy lol 
What shows are you talking about? Ones that feature the good old bands like AIC, STP, Pearl Jam etc on MTV? I dont watch MTV at all but if you tell me the shows that play these bands, I will tune in.
The only show I watch on MuchMusic (canadian mtv) is called Loud. Its all heavy metal/black metal/death metal etc on Saturdays at like 11:30pm - 12am i think. I watch it to check out the new metal bands and they play good ol metal bands like Lamb of God and stuff aswell.
I have a chan called Loud (its done my MuchMusic). Its supposed to be all heavy metal and shit. Ive watched that shit for a whole day once and I saw 2 actual metal songs. The rest are these gay songs...like you know that one that goes "You have a boyfriend that looks like a girlfriend" etc. They play that crap.
I wanna hear some White Zombie, Sepultura, Slayer, Emperor etc ya know? Not these homo's who think they are singing metal when in fact they are singing pop with loud guitars and loud drums ya know?
I swear, I wanna move to Norway so I can get down with the Norweign (sp?) black metal scene. Those guys are fuckin hardcore.

Syco - holy truth. Lots of crap on TV nowadays. I f.e. only watch my own music videos and shows (did you ever see at least a part of an AIC show from late 80's in tv?). Maybe i want too much, but for fucks sake - it's a music tv right?
I ain't into black metal, but i know what u feel. There's even hard to see classic rock videos :/

Was AIC even out in the 80's? I thought they came out around 91-92.
But yeah, you never see good rock/metal/grunge on tv anymore.

Its probably only on euro tv. In NA, everyone is obsessed with shitty pop and rappers grabbing their balls singing about how many bitches they have and how they like to shoot guns...
How people can get into that type of music is fuckin beyond me. I like rap, but old school rap.
The funniest "rapper" ive ever seen was this hasidic (sp?) jew rapping with a jamaican accent. And he was rapping about the torah and all these jewish kids are jumping up and down and shit. So stupid. Thats takin it to far. Like the guy was dressed in the full jewish gear - the long black coat, the big beard, the hat...he looked like a fuckin rabbi pretty much. I laughed my ass off. Thinking about it makes me laugh.
Or whats even funnier is when you watch Christian rock concerts and you see people in the crowd doing the devil horns with their hands....like come on, your listening to some fag sing about Jesus and how he loves the grass and the trees and your throwing up the sign of the devil?
My sister in law tried to take my niece to one of those concerts and a week before the concert she cried to me saying she didnt want to go. So I told my sister in law that I would take her. Instead, i took her shopping, we went and saw a movie, came home, feasted on candy, watched a few horror movies and then went to bed.
I feel bad for my niece man. She's young but really smart. Like really smart and she knows that christianity is bullshit. Not the msg of being nice and tolerant but everything else and her parents still try to force it on her. Like they buy her Christian rock cd's and all that kinda shit. Bible books and posters of Jesus and shit. Thats why I keep a room at my house for her where she keeps all the stuff I give her ie cd's she likes, horror and sci fi movies she likes, clothes she's not allowed to wear at home because "jesus wouldnt approve" etc
Thats why most weekends, when I dont have a date or im not planning on doing anything, she'll come spend the weekend at my house and I'll hook her laptop up to the internet (i have a hub) and she spends hours listening to music and dancing and playing with the kids on my street. And at night we chill out on the couch and watch good movies.
Im pretty sure my brother knows about it, but his wife doesnt cause she'd flip. See, my brother was totally against all religion until he got married and his wife became some sect of evangelical christianity and he was basically suckered into it. And he doesnt have the balls to say no to his wife.
Even my nephew is starting to want to spend the weekend at my house. His parents wont let him watch spiderman and superman and batman and ironman etc So I bought all those movies and while my niece is in her room doing whatever she does, my and my nephew feast on candy and chocolate and watch stuff like transformers and spiderman and superman and batman movies.
I feel so bad for those kids. Cause my sister in law does this shit in public. Like they will be walking say by Toys R US and will want to go in and check out the toys and what does the cunt say? "Jesus never played with toys, you dont need them"....like fuck, they are kids, let them have fun ya know?
Sorry for the rant but i had to get it off my chest and I know you guys would understand
