way" via stuff you've come across online that were suddenly to be found on your HDD throughout the years since you first got internet.

personally it's safe to say that i've broken at least a couple of million USD.
movies, games, music, applications, porn(yes, porn... most free porn isn't really free since somebody is paying to have it distributed) etc.

it's a bit unnerving to think that i've "spent" that much were i forced to pay for everything myself.

"couple of millions"

you have to "pirate" 20,000 games @ 50 bucks to get to 1 million.

you'd need a LOT of friends to come anywhere near that number Wink

just imagine, you pirate 100 games a year (and thats a lot more then anyone does) it would take 20 years for just reaching 2000, or 100k.

So to hit a million in 20 years, you'd have to pirate, e.g., 100 games a year for 20 years and then send each game to 10 friends ^^

thats a lot hehe.

I would guess it's at least a good few hundred £ per month.

Edit: I used to download pretty much everything and anything that looked interesting, but I don't do that anymore.

if i'm only counting games then that's probably a guesstimation of a couple of hundred thousand including games for emulators.

with everything i mentioned though, a couple of million doesn't really seem far fetched.

Very Happy

Honestly, I don't think $1m+ is out of range. Like asucahayashi and Mister_s said; once you start throwing in ROMs and movies? Yeah--- that's when prices go up. I have the full sets for most classic systems - MAME notwithstanding and that's a whole new ballgame too. MAME has a lot of games that were once dedicated cabs, no JAMMA or MVS or CPS there, but actual cabs that were set to one game -- and those games cost THOUSANDS of dollars to buy. Then you have JAMMA/MVS/CPS cabs with interchangeable boards, which usually ran anywhere from $400-3000 depending on how popular the game was or how easy the operator could get them.

SNES games used to run $60 a pop. There are around 1700 titles in total, counting duplicates from all three major regions, so that's what? $102,000 already! Just off one Goodset.

I think there was a topic sometime in the past that led to a website the would estimate the worth of your pirated material. I searched but could not find it. Anywho I have been "previewing" content from the net since the late nineties so who knows what price that would come to now, If I remember correctly from that site it was in the six figure range..Wink

Professional apps can quickly increase your overall number - especially if you count like sabin and take the highest possible retail value the games/apps have had at some point. Wink

Of course there will be. But they'll all be played on old arcade machines. Except the coin slot isn't gonna accept coins, if you know what I mean.
