Ikaruga - Vertical shmup, a real gem and a classic. You're not a shump fan if you don't know this game. 2 Player coop, but only local.

N+ - Very cool minimalistic platformer. A lot of stages, both in single player and co-op, which all can be played online. Highly recommended.

Mutant Storm Empire - Think Geometry Wars controls with more varied levels and enemies. Great grfx and sound. Online co-op, but very few are playing it.

Undertow - Fast paced 16 player online/offline fragfest in great looking 2d. Big underwater stages with about 5 bases you have to take over/defend. You have 4 characters/vehicles you can choose from on the fly. Each can be upgraded using the points you get from killing. This is the only game i can think of that can be played with so many players. It really shines online.

Omega Five - Horizontal shooter with 4 (read 3.5, since 2 are identical) original characters. It's not the best shmup, but it's solid enough to play through for a fan of the genre. Local coop only.

Heavy Weapon - Control a tank on the bottom of the screen and frag the planes that try to bomb you from above. Collect powerups to increase your firepower. Easy at first, but it gets infinitely difficult. Good single player, and solid 4 player online/offline coop. Once of those games you can't play longer then 15-20 minutes unless your teammates know what they are doing.

Aegis Wing - Free horizontal shooter. Easy game which by now I can pass with eyes closed. It has some interesting elements, the major one being the ability to link your ship with another player, making it bigger but more powerful. Get it because it's free.

Other games worth mentioning. Assault Heroes 1 and 2. Castlevania SOTN, Rez HD, Wik and The Fable of Souls.

btw. many of these games can be played on PC.
Ikaruga, originally a coinup game, was released on DC. There is a version of N+ for PC. Mutant Storm was released for pc, but not the Empire version which is much better. Heavy Weapon was realeased for PC although its a bit different. Castlevania SOTN was relased on PS1 long time ago but the XBLA version looks much better. Rez was originally released on DC. Wik and Fable of Souls is playable on PC.

Can't believe no one has mentioned Geometry Wars. Its genuinely my favourite game on the 360, including all full price games. Its just highly addictive with no attempt at a rubbish storyline. Plus it gets difficult which is a good thing.

Assault heros is good, but its short and easy. Ikaruga is awesome but it is insanely hard, even on easy. N+, yeah its good but its free on the PC therefore don't waste the points.

Speedball 2 obviously, its true to the original which is never a bad things. E4 is good (think its called something like every extend extra extreme or something equally silly.) Luminies is good presuming you don't already own it on the PSP. Maybe the best puzzle game out there imo. Outpost Kaloki is decent, good humor.

Bomberman Live - easily the best multiplayer arcade game online or with friends
Castlevania SOTN is also really good, probably best single player game out there
Puzzle Quest - really addictive, couldnt stop playing, best puzzle game
Ikaruga - good, but you have to invest some time in the game because of the high difficulty level.
street fighter puzzle Hd remix : great game to play with a friend from time to time but i never knew wtf i was doing lol

Absolutely "Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved" and the newly released sequel. These are the games I keep coming back to over and over again.

Bomberman Live is always a good time.

I like Undertow, but its kind of an aquired taste.

Ikaruga is a great shooter but like others have stated its pretty unforgiving. Omega Five and 1942: Joint Strike are also good 2 player shooters. Also Assault Heroes 1 and 2.

Small Arms is a Super Smash Brothers style game where 4 players can duke it out in a sidescrolling beat 'em up style game.

Pacman Championship Edition is a really cool retro pacman remake.

Zuma Deluxe is good for your puzzle fix.

Did I mention Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 1 and 2? !!!!

thanks for the input i picked up braid and i guess the rest will go to bionic commando rearmed, still have some left over but i just dont see any to interesting, i am not into remakes TOO much with the exception of a few games that i hold dear and will never make it to XBL.

anyway, thanks again, i am gonna check out one more mentioned i think undertow, which sounds like multiplayer only and if so if anyone is still playing it. I also prolly pick up geometry wars 2 i guess.

Tried Braid, it's just Mario (rescuing princess, deadly plants coming out of green pipes ;p ) with time rewind. Nothing special.

I assume it was the demo you played, as you obviously didn't progress very far. The game is primarily about solving puzzles, and as you move through the game new powers and environmental considerations are added. Unlike Mario, platforming is only a secondary gameplay element.

In one world the enemies move only when you move.

In another you get a ring that has slowmo surounding it.

In one world you have a shadow of yourself when you play after rewinding.

Etc.

Does the demo have the ability to control the rate of time manipulation (-8, +2 etc) like in the full game? I didn't finish the demo before buying it! Very Happy

I love the slow mo ring, such a great effect.

Yeah, I played for about an hour and a half when I first got it, managed to get about 40 pieces then had to restrain myself. I find it's an ideal game to play for 10 minutes while in bed before sleeping, just the kind of thing I was looking for. Smile

Yes, you can adjust rewinding speed in demo, with RB and LB (I don't remember).

I think I will add time manipulation to my own game (still work in progress, no drawing/texture making skills Embarassed )

Great game, i played the trial and now i think i am gonna buy the full game despite of its high price of 1200 points. Never bought a arcade game before so thats saying something Cool
