I just bought my xbox... and i have some questions...

1) What chip to install? ( To play almost all of the games)
2) is there a chip that i can install at home and not take to a store?
3) How can i find what version of xbox i have?

Thank you

I have the Executer 2, and am very happy with it, I've only got one disk that doesn't work and I thiknk it's a nuke anyway. I thought of puting a chip in myself but changed my mind as I'm crap at soldering and would have to give myself a severe talking to if I ballsed it up. Basically I think you could fit any chip yourself but if you are not confident with a soldering iron and usually have bits left over when you fix stuff get somebody who's done it before to do it.

Get an Xecuter 3 if you want the latest and greatest chip but an Xecuter 2 will do the job fine although it doesn't have the bells & whistles that the X3 does.

I'd also recommend getting a no-solder chip. You just have to buy the screwdrivers and follow some simple guides to install and it's unlikely you'll manage to fuck up.

Yeah, I have an old matrix no-solder and have not had any problems with it at all... never came since I put it in over a year ago.

Yeah, I have an xecuter 3, installed it myself and it works perfectly. I'd recommend it!

the X3 just has more bells and whistles than the older stuff. IT's worth the oney if it's features you want and need.

I THINK I have a version 1.00 Xbox (Bought it in 2001. It didn't have the Xbox Live Slot till some demo cd installed it.) I am sure this means that almost any Chip will work fine if I am mainly only going to play legal, foreign and burned game (I am not dealing with new HDDs and other extras.)

Right? So I can get any chip no problem for me?
