So i need to get a new mobo. The abit i have now is giving me loads of problems. Need an Nvidia chipset to run SLI and have been thinking about an EVGA 680i or the XFX 780i. Not to sure if i like the idea of an Asus board because of not being able to RMA directly to them. £160 budget.. but could go upto £200 and must be DDR2.

Anyone here have any recomendations or boards i should stay away from?

I would go for a 790i from EVGA, or the ASUS Rampage Extreme (not SLI obviously, but you could always get 2 4870x2 in Xfire Wink).
Both are DDR3.

Or if you can hang in there a tad more, wait for the
x58 EVGA board

LINK
6 DDR3 ram channels can never be wrong Razz

ASUS will also launch one of course "ASUS Rampage II Extreme X58"

LINK

But you need to buy a new CPU obviously, the X58 boards supports Core i7 (Nehalem)
That's Socket 1366
Oh and from now on it wont matter what make you buy.
you can run
Quote:
Enthusiast layout supporting 2-way, 3-way SLI and CrossFireX

on any of them apparently...correct me if I am wrong.

To be honest i cant afford to get a 790i, it would mean upgrading to DDR3 and i have 4x1GB 1066 RAM at the moment. Plus the performance increase overall isnt going to be spectacular.

An X58 board would be sweet but the pre-order prices are around £250 plus then the CPU and DDR3. gonna be about another 6 months untill i start using a Nehalem chip Sad the choice of using x-fire aswell as SLI is brilliant and has been a long time coming.

Looks like aswell as Asus, with XFX u cant RMA directly either.
