I need a new monitor, 22" widescreen, at most 200 euros. I've targeted three candidates, I'll copy/paste the models :

LG W2234S-BN 22'' TFT
LG W2242T-SF 22'' TFT
SAMSUNG SYNCMASTER 2243NW SILVER

I've added a simple "fanboy vs" poll to fire up some flames to warm up the thread Very Happy

EDIT: I really prefer minimal designed monitors, as little dead space/weight as possible.

I don't know where Samsung sources their panels from but I wouldn't show any alliegience to a monitor just because of the brand. Instead dig around for a 22 with a quality panel.

I haven't been too satisfied with any of the mainstream LCD's Samsung has put out over the past 1-2 years. Especially not the 19/20/22's that come with most Dell systems.

this model is the standard samsung model, if you want the LCD for gaming try:
Samsung SM2232BW
Samsung SM226BW
Samsung SM226CW
Samsung SM226UX
First two are the most referred as "gaming" monitors...
EDIT: I'm getting T220 today Very Happy

Check this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001273&Tpk=t220
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824001268R

and compare, personally I fell for the looks of T220, but some features are slightly better.

be aware though, I've read samsung gets their panels from 2 sources, 1 sucks 1 is good, I believe the "sucks" one had issues with backlight bleeding issues.

true or not...I dunno

I think this was an old issue that is pretty much non-existent with newer models, no?
