1. simply try changing the extension to .iso - sometimes it works, sometimes not.
2. open it up in nero, newer versions read the dmg format without problems iirc.
3. google dmg2iso Wink

Also you can burn the DMG file itself, just use UDF as filesystem for the DVD. That way after inserting dvd on a mac, one just need to double click the DMG file and it will mount as a virtual drive.

yea if you burn with UDF the person with the mac can just open the dmg file and it will mount.

or just toss the dmg file on a thumb drive and they can install it from there.

Yep.

BTW, UDF isn't just a Mac thingy. It is a replacement for ISO 9660, in a way that NTFS is replacement for FAT. Using UDF is safer, cause you won't hit file size wall plus it supports Unicode too.

And as Apple moved to Intel, they push all the bleeding edge tech thingies(I am talking mostly about software here) every 1.5 years. So generally it is better to use newer "stuff".

Just be carefully, if your thumb drive have FAT filesystem you could hit the filesize wall.

The drive is FAT32, will it make it unreadable on a MAC??

Mac will read FAT32 drive. By filesize wall I meant the maximum filesize. On FAT 32 it is 4GB. So, if your file is within the range everything should be fine Smile
