Definitely an overlay problem. I don't know the specific software but you could check in the settings if it will let you use an alternate video renderer. Maybe there is some plug-in/filter in the software with which you can invert the image back. Also, you've probably tried it already but you could update your tuner software and directx version. Your last option might be to ditch the painnacle software and use some other media centre app. You probably won't be able to use the remote but if you're using the tuner on a laptop it won't really matter that much.
I know that this may sound like monday morning analysis but pinnacle has cheap hardware and shitty software. But that's what you get when you go for budget items.
I ended up uninstalling the software and reinstalling it, seems to work now.. what a odd problem, hopefully its not too frequent.. thanks for the help anyways!
