Features
- The concept of territorial warfare, based on the conflict of water and ground and bringing gameplay to new dimension.
- Transforming units, assuring quick and effective reaction to the events on the battlefield and tactical diversity.
- Newly introduced Action-elements: players can enter the battle using the Providence - a Tactical Manipulator of Direct Action - and its super attacks, such as huge explosions, meteor showers, and more.
- Newly introduced RPG-elements: players can dig the gaming maps in search of psy crystals that are used to unlock and upgrade Procidence's super attacks. Apart from that psy-crystals hide important secrets about the past of New Earth.
- Exodus - the greatest expedition in the history of mankind, has reached its goal. But does it mean the end of suffering? And if New Earth is a trap, what price will it cost to escape? A new chapter of the sci-fi saga will answer many old and new questions.

me to. i played the 1st one and i really liked it. if what they say about P2 then this game will rock. and if it comes out about the same time with Starcraft 2 (assuming they will delay it like all companies always do) then we will see quite an interesting war. wonder who will win ....

'am actually playing the first one now. Very frustrating at times, but does have it's charm. The mention of "action elements" makes me veeeery afraid though...

I played the russian version, and I must say its terrible, most of mechanics from the first game non existent. Graphics are ugly from both tec and art point off view. Interface doesn't feel right, and overall the only nice thing about this game is the water physics.

Any news about this release? I download one from some russian site but i have to try it. It seems it uses the same protection as dark sector (hope it´s russian/english).

Unsure about a "release" but it's been available on Steam since the 10th, unsure why it hasn't been ripped or perhaps it has but not yet been spread on many other sites or sources like Usenet and similar.

I downloaded a russian release (setup.exe and 3 bin files - 2.2gb) and now i´ m downloading a clone release clone (4.4gb). They both use starforce and you need to use the inf (as in dark sector. Add new hardware blabla), but the clone should work.
Still... it´s in russian...

The game looked so old and ugly that I uninstalled after the first couple of tutorial levels. I haven't played Maelstrom so I don't know how it compares... and I can't remember much of Perimeter I.

I agree with you. The graphic looks like it's from a student project. It looks 10 years old. I lost all interest in it as soon as i played for 5 minutes into the first mission.
I had tried perimeter 1 way back when it came out. I didn't like it then. I was hoping they would improve the game in part 2 but alas not so. At least for me, it's not very appealing/enjoyable to play.
Uninstalled.
