|

I decided to let my Inet provider take over my telephone line as well (before it was Deutsche Telekom). Before I had 3Mbit down and 400Kbit up. After my provider sent me a new router and took over all my lines I have
Thats like 11Mbit/800Kbit compared to my old 3Mbit/400Kbit
Not as fast as you guys in Sweden maybe, but for me its super fast compared with my old line .
Just checked my "official" speed via my router software
I guess the "real" speed is never what they say it is hey .

36.91€ and that's including telephone line and Inet + Fastpath (better ping when gaming online).
That's something like £ 28.84 .
Just wait till our Swedish friends start posting their speeds/price here...you will be GREEN in the face .

This is me and my rather crappy DSL line (2660m from the exchange)...
My ISP wouldn't give me Annex M to start with so I got some help from a few friends at a company related to my ISP and made sure to get it... For me this speed is barely acceptable but it looks like I'll get fiberoptics here in a near future..
I pay something around 35€ for it, no need for "fastpath" here...
Oh and VoIP is included in that price btw...

QSC, aren't they expensive compared to all others CaptainCox? Do you have one of their SDSL packages, cause i believe their usual DSL package is a resale from Hansenet or was it Arcor.
Telekom is still trying to sell me their 50/25Mbit VDSL for about $120, not really a bargain but it includes some PPV stuff which i'm not interested in. Cable is way cheaper here, but you have to share the speed with others.

1000 RUB/Month = around $42 or 28 Euro
plus
140 RUB/Month for real IP = around $6 or 4 Euro
for a total of around $47 or 31 Euro

My bro in Sweden has 100Mbit down and I think 10Mbit up, costing something like 25€ or so per month. Now that's cool!.
@WhiteBarbarian, pretty unusual with an almost symmetric up/down speed, or is that common in Russia?
@Shevchenko, Impressive!.

Haha that's exactly what I don't think. I think my upload speed sucks and that is my major problem with this connection!
Whenever fiberoptics get here I'm thinking about 50/50 for about 45€/month...

@Shevchenko, Wow

To be honest, I don't know. There are still places with no phone, gas and even water and electricity access in Russia But in Moscow it varies among cable ISPs, with ADSL upload is always much lower than download.
In my case, I have 9300/9300(UP/DOWN) tariff plan, unlimited traffic. That means I could get any speed but it wouldn't exceed the top limit. The lowest I have had on speedtest.net is around 7000 kbit DOWN and around 5500 UP for about a week. Now it is always > 8000 and I pretty much always max out my connection on torrents and always on usenet. On usenet it is often goes above 9300's limit

I was assuming as it said QSC on the stats you posted. 1&1 ain't that bad, weren't they the ones who even paid customers with to much bandwidth a bonus so they get rid of them. Friend of mine was with 1&1 for a while untill he kept getting letters of complaint from them for using to much of their precious bandwidth | Hm, not sure. But I do remember reading somewhere (could have been here at NFOhump) that there was an inet provider that had such plans. Could have been 1&1

Yea...
The regular price for it just like 17,5/month
But if you have a phone with them (even a pre-paid like me) you will get like a 10pound discount on it.
I'm happy as Larry with them. Had a this brodband for a past 3 months and can't complain about anything. And they call-centre isn't run by Indian folks (I'm not a racist or anything - but if anyone of you called into BT helpline or anything you will know how big problem it is..)
