I need to burn 70 gigs of stuff off my computer.

Do I need to let the drive cool or anything or can I just burn one disc after the other?

One after another should be fine?

Might I recommend that you buy an external HD instead? And this should be in the Hardware Zone.

oh yeah, my mistake, my bad Neutral
When a mod see's this please move to correct section

anyway, one after another should be fine? I mean, its gunna take me hours to do if i do one after the other, but if i have to take a break in between, its gunna take forever

oh, i cant afford and external hd. only dvds, they are dirt cheap right

oh i get you.

I just checked factorydirect and they got a 320 for 79.99.
You could still pick one up for back up and stuff.

But yah it shouldn't fuck up. Tho it's like 18 dvds might give it a break after 6.
y'know. Take it easy. Eitherway it'll take you over an hour. Don't rush it. Very Happy

I have burned countless DVD's one after the other and not had issues. Although, if you burn like that all the time it does tend to wear the drives out faster.

I used to archive to dvd's a bit before storage got so cheap. However with 500GB externals being sub $100 it's hard to justify the time spent.

I want them on dvd because they are all the stargate sg1 and Stargate Atlantis shows and my dad wants to watch them (he's in the hospital). I plan on bringing a lap top for him so he can watch all the seasons cause he's a big fan too.
And I want them for record sake. I like having things on dvd as they are more perm you know?

well, it depends on the condition you keep the cd/dvd's in. I plan on keep these in a good container so they should last a long time

You just got lucky, I've had a lot of problems with old cd/dvd. Nowadays I never burn anything .. actually I almost never use my dvd, except for my old media. Everything I have is in images !

decent media, all kept in cases. it's only the odd one that gives me trouble, but that's enough not to trust them Wink
