I think there is a difference between a shitty game and terrible game launch.
For example SimCity is a shitty game AND had terrible game launch.

For me it was Diablo 3. Worst launch and most disappointed PC game in 2013.

I'd say SimCity as it was the only one I bought at launch (and Diablo 3 was my choice for launch last year)

It's way harder to find a PC game that didn't have issues at launch this year

/thread | Yep.
With BF4 as the "worst launch of 2013 that you actually bought"

And D3 was 2012 ...

easily rome2, simcity wasnt anywhere near as bad as rome on launch ( heck game that is supposed to be stunningly good looking still doesnt support multi gpus with nvidia saying they cant make profile before sega makes game sli compatible and sega wont do shit because they are waiting for nvidia, excellent communications over there )

Rome II is disqualified as it's still a mess |
One thing is for sure, it was a memorable year for fans of strategy games.

I would say BF4 had a horrible launch, it's taken them over a month to get some of the more severe issues patched.
SimCity was also a turd.
And actually, a lot more. Just that since I'm actually trying to play BF4 it gets my vote.

I can forgive SimCity since it was destined to be SC-Societies-on-a-napkin since the first pictures/gameplay-details came out. And that was before they announced the always-online. It looked crap and it was crap.
Rome2 was somewhat expected, even though they managed to surpass even themselves in terms of buggy launch. But at least there is something salvageable about it, even if it means another Napoleon-like "apology".
My winner would be X-Stillbirth. It's broken on so many levels that simply cannot be justified with "their games are always glitchy at launch". It's not just bugs, it's a fundamentally broken game that requires either a complete rework from the ground up or just delete the abomination and return to updating the old concepts. It's the entire game being rotten from the inside. Their old games were like Durian fruits. Look unappealing, but delicious once you get past the smell. X-SB was just an apple that was left on the ground for too long and is best left decomposing back into the ground.
