I'm messing around with xampp and i have installed phpbb, but i want a forum that comes with a main page like NFOrce errr i mean NFOhump got and or like php-nuke. Tried php-nuke 8.1. Tricky installation as i couldnt install it the way it was meant to be installed and i had to fiddle a bit, but that led to some stuff not working. Anyway anyone know of any other similar forum softwares i should try out ?

There are hacks for phpbb to allow you to have a main page, or you can install Joomla + community builder.
