Ok so im building a machine for a friend and want to install Vista x64. I'm using BIE - JUNE 08 -OEM release. The install go's fine and vista starts but once i reboot i am greeted with the below error. I'm tried reformatting and installing the x86 version also but everytime after the first restart i am given the same error and the grub command line.

I managed to install XP and use a valid copy of Vista Home Prem Upgrade. But I would like to get X64 on this system, any ideas are appreciated.

Dunno if it is for this release, but I have read here or elsewhere that for some releases you have to wait few seconds/minutes -without rebooting- after that the installation is completed for the launch of a custom script, which will apply the loader crack in order to validate Vista. Smile

Cheers, not sure if the release is the problem though as i've used the same release on my machine and a friend's. I'm guessing it has something to do with the hd 500GB seagate as i tried the installation with that drive on my machine and had the same problems. The weird thing is i use the exact same type of drive as my master and i never had this problem.

Its vista..do you expect anything less? Sorry, my only recommendation is to install xp.
