Rogue Warrior is a story-driven shooter that provides team-based tactical combat set in massive, contiguous levels using Unreal 3 streaming technology. Central to the game's single and multiplayer experience is the idea of a freeform battlefield, where players are given the freedom to choose how to complete a given objective.
You play Dick Marcinko, leader of an elite SEAL unit trapped behind enemy lines in North Korea as a war breaks out between North and South Korea. Greatly outnumbered and with no support and limited resupply, you must try to lead your team back into South Korea without alerting the North Korean army of your presence. Your journey will take you through a variety of never-before-seen environments inside of North Korea, including submarine pens, shipbreaker yards, prison camps, and more.
A shame it's not the " story-driven shooter that provides team-based tactical combat set in massive, contiguous levels using Unreal 3 streaming technology. It was a year ago.
Now it's just a generic one man army FPS with knife kills like in "Turok".
"I think Call of Duty resonates because it's believable and relatable," Sledgehammer Games cofounder Michael Condrey says.
Believable and relatable...Yep, sounds like Call of Duty

Why is it that developers have so much difficulty with producing team-based games?
'Tactical' also seems a non-word in the dictionary that is gaming.
What do we always get as the end result?
A single player fps with what the execubots like to call 'tactical elements' (meaning they trashed the concept and it's back to good old run and gun with some minor tweak thrown in so as the marketing twats can legitimately call it a 'tactical fps'.) and the standard tired old format.
No, the fps in it's current form is as dead as a dodo and until these genius's realize that the likes of you and me will have these games continually spun at us as the next big thing.
Please God I hope I am wrong and instead its Kill Switch on steroids with a decent plot.
Well it seems quite integrated to Steam so it's probably similar to the release of Modern Warfare 2. (As I probably said in a previous post somewhere in this thread. )
Should be out soon though.
(Or those with the hardware can just grab the X360 copy, don't think they will be that different.)
where players are given the freedom to choose how to complete a given objective.
generally means you can kill people with the weapon of your choice either going down corridor A or corridor B or you can either run , walk or crawl to the checkpoint
wants to mean
you can stealth in to a base and complete your objective without beeing seen.
or
you could blow a whole in the side of a wall climb through and complete the objective
or
you could jump in a vehicle of some kind and ram through the front games , storm in and complete the objective.
or
you could grab a helicopter circle the base while blowing the shit out of anything that moves and anything else that explodes.
before walking in to the completly fucked up pile of rubble and completing the objective.
Well, I for one am looking forward to this simply because it's a fps that isn't just a series of scripted events with a squad of ai that just leads you trough it and shoots your enemies for you.
I just hope the feel of the combat is good.

It might've been Barack Obama and it still would suck. I mean just listen to the first seconds of the video, no emotion at all.
And yes, in the trailer it sounds a lot better, but the gameplay... geez.
Well he's supposed to be a hardened war veteran or something like that, do you want him to cry like a baby or something?
Sounds fine to me at the start of that video too.
