|
 |
I placed an order yesterday ( a birthday gift which is now going to be late ) on friday the 6th of june (yesterday). I placed the order early in the morning and payed for next day delivery (saturday today) for 9.99. I work night shifts so I planned on arriving home within the delivery window of 9.AM - 8 PM which city link say they use. Ebuyer confirmed this by emailing me that my item was dispatched and would arrive between 9 AM and 8 pm on sautday. I am off to work..
I leave work early and arrive home at 8:35 AM this saturday morning, I think great, I have arrived in time for my delivery.
WRONG. This is the second time this has happenned to me whilst using ebuyer.
I walked into the hall and stood on a delivery note posted by city link saying they had attempted delivery? Errm, excuse me, but 25 minutes BEFORE the delivery window of 9 AM - 8 pm?! I am now displeased to wasting 9.99 on the saturday delivery which Im now going to recieve on monday, and my girlfriend is not going to recieve her presant as planned.
As I say this has happenned twice. Then this afternoon I get this lovely email from ebuyer!
"There has been an attempt to deliver your order on 07/06/08 @ 09:24 Your order will now be held at the local City Link depot for you to make contact between the hours of 09:00 - 20:00 GMT. Please can you contact City Link to arrange delivery at your earliest convenience or to collect the order. Goods will be held for 5 working days before being returned to ourselves for a refund, in which case they will have to be ordered again."
9:24? I dont think so City Link man. I was sitting in the living room eating a bowl of frosties reading the instructions on the back of the *failed delivery* note at 9 AM, the time I thought I SHOULD have been openning my delivery.
This may not sound so bad for some, but it has really ruffled my feathers as happenning twice tends to do. I understand this isnt entirely ebuyers fault, but Im sick to death of this god-awful courrier. If they dont arrive 2 minutes before 8 PM with your delivery, they arrive 40 minutes early when you are either in bed or at work (night shifters of course).
Disgrace!

Ive used them before when ordering stuff from ebuyer. Find them quite good but I think it varies a hell of alot depending on where in the country you live and what depot they are delivering from, some of them I know are proper lazy workshy cunts. Hope you put a complaint in, get your delivery charge refunded at least.

i generally only order pc components and i'd probably go a local shop but all the computer shops near me dont sell what i want + there more expensive anyway by upto 20%

In the uk the majority of couriers are a shambles
I would be confident out of a random 10 people from my msn who buy online say once a month . Nearly all will have had trouble with city link , Parcel farce ( or RM ) & dhl ( I listen to plenty of rants enough of the time )
I don't know if the US / EU is different . But the big ones in the uk have a large number of uncompetent , Lying thieves in there midst

The normal UPS driver here always trys to get out of delivering to my house. Most likely because its on top of a hill and he doesn't feel that he should carry large heavy boxes up it. One time I ordered a new PC case and the bastard never even drove on the street and claimed there was no one home to collect the package. Problem was I was home and downstairs the whole time waiting for the package and neighbors who were outside the whole day told me they never even saw the truck go on the street. I called and bitched UPS out so much that they sent him to my house and when he got to my door he looked pissed but didn't say a word and didn't even have me sign for the god damn package.
But does it end there oh fucking no! The last time I ordered from Newegg I got the UPS 3 day guaranteed shipping. I followed the package every so often with the tracking # and found that on the 2nd day it made it to my state. On the 3rd day it went through and past my city to another warehouse or wherever the hell they keep the packages. I got it on the 4th day at about 5PM and the UPS guy doesn't even knock on the door or ring the door bell and he just leaves the package outside. Which totally fucking kills his excuse that no one answered the other time he delivered and they broke their fucking guarantee.

It seems like when the drivers are behind schedule, they wont even knock on the door just leave leave one of those notes (often they dont even fill them out).

You can get one time use disposable visa cards for using on the internet. You can also get prepaid credit cards for $100. They sell them at Walgreens.

Don't ure bank have a card generator like mine? You register at you're bank and then you can download a card generator and sett th amount that is on it and then it generate a card number that you can use. That way you never use you're real card number.

this attitude is common, its pretty archaic and misguided these days, as online purchases are safe as ever, and any fraudelent purchases will always be given back if you are with a good bank.

Some fuckers stole my wifes wallet, and we didnt know it was gone until the next day.
3 of 6 cards were flagged right away by merchants and only about 60 bucks was racked up on them. The others had about 3 grand each put on them. But as i knew, we are not responsible for Fraud, and hence the financial institutions are covering all the charges.
Fraud is fraud, no matter what your bank says. They have fraud insurance for a reason, and you are not responsible for the charges.
I love internet shopping. I bought a new phone for my wife on Monday @ 12:30am, and it arrived Tuesday @ 1:00pm. I couldn't believe how fast it came, from Montreal.
