I was addicted to world of warcraft for over 3 years. I have been wow free for about 1 month now. I had over 450 days played during those 3 years. It was hard. I'm currently rebuilding my life after this. It was horrible and i'm glad I am finally living free of my addiction.

I will never play another MMO ever again. I used to be heavily into scene the and played every game that came out for about 2 days to a week till my WOW addiction. While I Dont plan to play that many games I have gotten back into the scene so expect to here alot more from me.

I just drank 4 22 oz steel reserves so thats all I have to say about that for now. but I will entertain any questions.

Are you expecting some kind of congratulatory response? Come back when you overcome a legitimate "Addiction." This kind of stuff cracks me up.

It's like me saying: "I've been Chapstick free for 1 month."

you guys know what.... seriously Very Happy give the guy props. He played the game day in and day out. Threw out a lot of opprotunties in life. Missed a lot of chances here and there. Now he quit. Well for now. 30 days is 30 days. Alcohol/Drugs/Games. No matter how long you abuse any substance... 30 days is 30 days. Fucking brutal 30 days. May not mean nothing to any of you Razz try giving up internet for 30 days or something like tv or movis or books or stuff that you guys enjoy. An addiction is an addiction. 30 days is good. If it lasts... mad props to you gobo. Even if you start playing again... you can quit again. Smile Knowing that you have the will power for 30 days and more is an accomplishment. I hope you continue it. Smile

Congratulations and all - now go play a REAL MMO - not the mainstream, spoon-feeding, soccer mommy and kiddy garbage that is WoW.

I really feel sorry for these poor people that think WoW is the best thing since sliced bread - you missed the golden age of MMOs such as EQ and DAoC - where none of the WoW population would have lasted for more than 3 hours

You think your WoW addiction was bad - would have been much worse in the above-mentioned games. Bit late to try them now, but if you only knew......

Props to you gobo, been there done that.

Oh and dont care what the nay-sayers troll on about. There are plenty of psychological studies that suggest that wow and similar games all affect the same pleasure- and reward-center in the brain that alcohol and other drugs do. MMO's can be a very potent and dangerous addiction.

Gz Gobo. I quit wow some 2 years ago now Smile and i don't miss it. Looking back. It was just mindless repetitive raiding and pvping, grinding. Great game though, best mmo ever. Didn't play Eq or DaoC that was "before" my time. I did play swg though, that was cool! (but im also a huge starwars nerd so, anyways they fucked that up with NGE-Patch )

Have a friend that just quit wow, also a wow-o-holic.. Funny thing, now he plays age of conan instead Razz Anyways.. We goin' to belgium soonish to work for a random it company as supporters, will serve our lazy asses right Razz We can sit them down and help people with computer problems, then go home and play computer. Everything solved Razz

youve got to be kidding me. How can you get addicted to that game. I played it for a week and was never bored so much by a game in my entire life (well maybe by Jericho by clive barker but thats another story).

Its so boring and crappy.. You have wasted 450 days of your life on a game, that is pretty lame. I hope to god you delete your account or something so you dont go play it more Neutral

No one likes a quitter.

Can you feel the addiction gnawing at your brain? Can't you hear your high level characters begging for mercy and asking "why"? You know playing them one last time won't hurt... just think of it as saying goodbye. Just one more time. A proper goodbye.

Just one more time

Yeah. Never played WOW or similar (everquest?) online games, but i have heard a lot about their -seemingly hard drug addicted- players. Good for you gobo.
