..out of this country, with my girlfriend, within the next few years.

Im sick of this hole. Anyone who lives in the UK will probably agree how crap it is to live in now. Im not sure where I want to go, my GF suggested Australia, but we both kinda agreed europe would be better. Its not gonna be an immediate thing, but I would love to get the fuck out ASAP (obviously money prevents this)..

What kind of steps should be taken to prepare for such a move? I really dont know where to start. Making the money, eventually wont be so much of a problem.. But finding accomidation abroad, sorting out legal shit, I havent a clue what I need to be doing. Im sure you need to prepare well in advance however at least for legal documentation on emigrating right? so if anyone has any info could they post.

When I say europe, I dont mean some bunghole euro place which is cheap to live in, Im thinking perhaps Sweden, Norway, somewhere with good laws and nice living conditions. (anyone mentions poland they will get belted Laughing)

We are visiting the amsterdam so I think the netherlands may be in consideration too, It seems a great place to live what with the weed laws and all Laughing can't go wrong there..

Well, the forum is multi-national, so I guess this is a great place to ask, what does your country have to offer which is better than my shit one? Sad

ps: i would try something like Luxembourg or Lichtenstein. Afaik, it's a fiscal paradise out there Very Happy

I am particularly interested in Sweden the more I think about it. Stockholm seems like a really awesome place.

Why not try NA? Canada or the US. Id say Canada as we have better laws and better living conditions

Canada is a great place to live and english folks do well here

Well, Id still like to be 'close to home' because family will still be here. I know that may sound dumb, but I would always want to be within an hour flight or short ferry ride from my family should something happenned in the family. Canada does pose a nice offer though. Ive always wanted to visit Wink

Toronto ppl and ppl from southern ontario speak how ppl speak in movies and television shows. We dont really have an accent. But if you go out west or east then yeah, they have accents.

But ppl from Southern Ontario speak how people speak in movies and tv shows and such.

And yeah Sweden definitely is "culturally diverse" these days, whether that's a good or bad thing, that's for everyone to decide for themselves.

Finland is practically a clone of Sweden in many respects, except with less immigrants, slightly cooler weather and way cooler language (pansy swedes... Wink )

Its not the immigrants! It IS the chavs. But not just the chavs. Im sick of the laws, the weather, the police here are cunts, the country is so bleak in the field which I wnat to progress in (digital arts and design). I could come up with a hundred and one reasons I want to leave. Sad

I know but here they dont even turn up if you call them for help. The police corruption in my town is ridiculous. You can stand watching a brawl in my town center with the police getting a good kick in themselves and sometimes not even bothering to split them up. Also, if you live in certain areas the police just dont give a fuck about you Neutral Plus the town im from being a major boat import town for anything from cars to food there are so many drug dealers and 'gangland' style drug problems here the police are pretty much too scared to do shit anyways.

But it isnt just my town, the whole country is becomming worse by the day. 2 teenage boys where stabbed to death in the last 2 weeks by other teenagers. Its becomming almost a daily problem Twisted Evil I want out!

me? Im not a 'qualified' designer but I have a good portfolio that always gets me work and enough contacts too. I intend to start my own design 'company' one day. Internet based, of course. Perhaps even web development, im unsure yet. It may be a joint thing., I know a couple guys who have skills which I dont such as coding who are also interested. Smile But I want to do 'local' work too, something solid. Internet is all good but face to face clients are much better, you know that jubaface. Wink

I think what he meant was that to move and live in certain countries you need to have a good trade, e.g electrician, plumber.

oh yes, I know. I certainly wouldnt be just working online. I would most likley get a dayjob for the first year to settle down. I agree what Juba was saying, it would be silly to assume butterflies and bunnies so soon. But I CAN earn at least 200 pounds a week from my online escapades when I dedicate 2-3 nights to working on it, so that is at least something.. Could pay a few bills with that alone Smile
