Couldnt see anywhere suitable for this post so Im putting it here. Maybe we should have a forum for mobile/cell phone discussion?
Anyway so my contract finally finished and I got my Sony Ericcson w850i upgraded to the Nokia N95 with 8gb internal memory and 5 megapixel camera! I was stuck between the Sony Ericcson w960i and the Nokia N95 since they are the only 2 phones with 8gb although the N81 also has 8gb but that is a bit old now. I wasnt aware the w960i had a touchscreen which I have to say intrigued me but after spending an hour with them both in the shop I decided the N95 was a much better handset and to be honest the one Id always had in mind from the start.
Its a very nice phone I have to say and with twice the memory of my PSP, I think I might end up watching my tv episodes on it, although the screen is nowhere near as big as the PSP. Its a good size for a phone display though. I really like the two way sliding as well and the phone comes with Spiderman 3 the full movie stored on the internal memory. As I have only just got the phone today, I need to spend a lot of time playing around with it and getting used to it. The only downside is I have had to sign into a 24 month contract instead of my usual 18 months.
Does anyone else have the Nokia N95 or care to comment on it?
Did I make a good choice?

Well I don't have N95, but I have Nokia 6120 Classic, which has same OS and most of the features exactly like N95's, except no controls designed for gaming and no integrated 8GB. I love it coz I can use shitload of 3rd party apps, games, IRC, fast browsing and listening to shoutcast MP3 music streams even 192kbps or better thanks to fast 3.5G internet connection, email, remote connect to my home pc, google maps that shows your location and the list goes on. With N95 you can do all that plus easier controls for games.

I have the n73 (or did have) and it was SHIT. So slow, i couldn't believe it. not sure if the N95 suffers from the same fait though...

I'm not much of a mobile whore, but I prefer Sony Ericsson to the (mostly) fat Nokia phones. Looking forward to the Xperia, which looks interesting.

I think (so I've heard) that the whole N series have slow software. Go to www.gsmarena.com and see what they say, you can even compare other mobiles

mobile internet access is so friggin expensive in Canada it really isn't worth it. plus I seem to break expensive phones whilst drunk :/

Not a huge fan of the N95, the camera is top quality though, but it's just too big.

Ah yeah I didnt think of that! I just assumed the Handheld World was for handheld consoles, sorry. Can a mod please move the thread to the Handheld World, thanks.

I have P1i. I love (pseudo)QWERTY keyboard. It has touchscreen which was really cool at the beginning but now I prefer key shortcuts. It's a bit "fat" for pockets in pants, so I carry it in anorak. I have to find out how to carry it in the summer ) |

I'm thinking about getting the Samsung SCH-i760 but I'm not sure yet. It seems like the best phone verizon has to offer right now. Its one of the only phones for Verizon that offers Wifi, which is sweet. Any suggestions as to a different phone? Something that might be released in the near future?
