I would buy the PS3 man. Free online play and no red lights of death issue. And I have yet to have a problem with mine.
Btw, I also have a 360. So what im saying is based on first hand experience

I would say so, I have a 360 here. My daughter has a PS3 up in her room. Personally speaking I would say that the PS3 has more potiental but the game base is far too limited at the moment.
I don't see why anyone would consider themselves to be "selling out" because they own a console. I consider myself a gamer, what ever system I play on.
Q1 Is the Xbox360 worth it?
A1 Depends in which games you like. If you're a first person shooter then stay with the PC. I think FPS'ers are unsurpassed on the PC. If you're a driving game lover then you're far better off with a 360.
Q2 What are the good games for the 360?
A2 Depends what you like. A game you like I may hate and vice versa.
Q3 Is it hard to mod?
A3 Depends on how technically minded you are and how well you can follow the tutorials. If you're not then get someone to do it for you. Personally speaking I found it far far easier than doing the original xbox. Another factor to consider is which drive the machine will be that you're getting. If you get one with a Hitachi 0079 drive then I hope you're good at soldering. Plus you'll probably need a few extra tools for it . Like a Willem programmer. I've got a Hitachi 0079 in mine and I can't wait to get my new laser for it to get with the soldering. I love this stuff and I even download technical manuals because I find them so interesting. If that kind of stuff bores you to tears then stay away. You'll be doing some reading and more reading to get it right.
Q4 Would I be selling my soul if I bought one?
A4 Like I said, I consider myself to be a gamer. I don't isolate myself to a single platform. I would find that too limiting.
Q5 Do I even want these questions answered?
A5 If you don't I've just wasted my time. I hate that so you better have a good excuse if you don't want them answered.

Not on my PS3. I havent had it freeze or slowdown or anything once. Works like a charm
Could be my system, I dunno. But I know I havent had a problem with it yet.
EDIT
And the PS3 game base will grow within the next year so no worries there.
And isnt MGS 4 PS3 only? I already have my copy paid for (for the PS3)

Well How are the RPG, Strategy, Survival horror, Adventure games on the 360? These are more of my type of games. I do enjoy FPS's but will leave that to my PC.

I would but its totally out of my price range and no modchips. I can't afford to buy the games at this time.
If i do buy a 360 I don't want it to collect dust...

It's easier to mod than soldering a mod chip in if you get anything but the Hitachi 0079.
You flash a new firmware on the drive. You have flashed a drive before or your BIOS.
It's as easy as that. Probably easier truth be told because the tools are written for you already.

Buying a 360 just for shite like GTA IV is IMO pretty sad.. There are games that are ten times better out there.
The thing is a 360 is about the same price as a decent vid card, thats what decided me on one..

Its not really about GTA IV at all. While I certainly will play the game SA is the only one I ever took time to beat and that was on PC. I don't think I'll ever play SA again after beating it though. same will go with GTA IV I assume.

Buy a PS3 its more reliable in terms of hardware. My 360 has al ready failed 1 time and it took M1cR0$h1t3 6 weeks to get it fixed and returned to me.
360 isnt hard to mod. But it doesnt cost much to let someone else do it for you either. So if youre scared of destroying it just let someone else that's done it before do it for you.
If youre gonna legitimately buy all your games just buy a PS3. But if youre planning on modding your 360 then its worth it i guess. Because of all the F..3 games . No but seriously buy the games that you like and the rest consider that as an extra . (10 Verbatims for € 15 FTW!!!!) (i didnt say all that )
Just remember that if your 360 dies your screwed for 6 weeks or so. Because of M1cR$h1t3S slome ass service.
Have a nice day.

how on earth can you say your selling out buying a console... seriously how narrow is your life experince. If you can afford both then buy both, I'm sure there both great.
Or, drink too much, pass out, and repeat.

I think these large games companies go on sales of their games to reflect on new developments rather than sales of consoles. As you've stated you won't be buying any games then I don't think you'll be making a jot of difference.
