I've been searching for a digital version of this book for a long time, and now that i've found it, i thought i would share.
http://descegy.bibalex.org/
The text is in French, but there are hundreds of beautiful pictures and illustrations.
For those who don't know the book,
Quote: | Description de l'Égypte (English: Description of Egypt) is a comprehensive scientific description of ancient and modern Egypt as well as its natural history. It is a publication that is the collaborated work of about 160 civilian scholars and scientists, known popularly as the savants, who accompanied Napoleon's expedition to Egypt in 1798 to 1801 as part of the French Revolutionary Wars, as well as about 2000 artists and technicians, including 400 engravers, who would later compile it into a full work. |

nice
i love learning stuff about ancient egypt. ive always been fascinated for some reason. I always catch those documentary shows they have on the discovery channel civilizations chan and the national geographic chan.
Ancient Egypt is possibly the most fascinating of the ancient cultures. I'd say the Miyans come in second and then ancient rome

You can get lectures and tours in just about any language you want. The tourism services here are some of the best in the world.
And you'll be surprised how many non-ancient Egyptian historical sites and museums there are in Egypt.

Sounds awesome
Whats the tourism industry like? Is Egypt a safe place to go? Like as much as I want to visit jerusalem and such, i would never go because of all the warring going between israel and palestine

It's about as safe as it gets.
The country as a whole is very safe, add to that the extensive police presence at tourist sites and you have nothing to worry about.
Plus, the people are extremely friendly towards foreigners.

Living next to so much history has its downsides too, you seem to not notice a lot of the stuff around you.
Like it took me 3 years to notice that there is a castle across the street from my university. It's just part of the scenery

There are a lot more sites of this nature, from Alexander the Great and the Shah of Iran to Napoléon Bonaparte and Cleopatra (you can actually bath in her royal bath).
Lots of cool stuff

thats definetly cool as fuck dude
Do you know of any Egypt tourism websites? in english. Getting there and finding a good hotel is the easy part. Finding stuff to do and knowing where things are is more difficult you know?
Now i dont know where to go. England or Egypt....im leaning towards egypt first as the climate is more to my liking, nice and hot. And there are so many places i'd like to visit in egypt.

Alexandria is my favourite city, lots of Greek and Roman monuments in addition to late middle-age and relatively modern castles. And it's got the great Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
It's also very close to El Alamein, which has all the WWII stuff.
You'll find all the major attractions of each city in the second link

You can swim in it, but you don't want to do that. The water isn't as clean as it used to be.
If you want to really swim or dive, go to the coastal cities, lots of world class beaches and resorts. Hurghada especially, being one of the best diving destinations on Earth.

awww, ever since i was kid and saw the 10 commandments with charelton heston ive wanted to swim in the nile
still, from the quick browse i did of those sites, you guys have some awesome looking beaches.
One more question that a website cant answer. How about the women? Are they clean or do you have to be really careful?
Like you know what Im saying? if you go to africa or the caribbean, you dont have sex with the locals cause your chance of getting aids is 50/50

Don't get your hopes up, even the christian girls don't have premarital relationships.
Only action you may get is from professionals, and i don't think you want that.
And aren't you married?
