hi everybody,

i will order a new load of blank media in the near future. I was thinking about ordering a large amount of CDR/DVD disks on a US site because the $ is worthless these days. It should be cheaper than ordering it in some EU store. (i guess)

anyone knows an online site where i can order CDR/DVDR and pay in $ and have my goods delivered to BELGIUM or NETHERLANDS? So dont spam here with sites that only deliver US->Canada or local in US.

Cant you just order from a US/Canadian company, pay in US/Canadian dollars then pay a little extra for shipping to Europe?

I would rather find a cheap DVD/CD online store in Belgium. It can get real expensive if you buy stuff from USA above 40 USD. But if you really want to get them from US you can ask some friends or family if they are going to USA.

yeah, thats exactly what i am looking for. Maybe i was not clear enough on that... Im just trying to check out all the possibilities and calculate what is cheapest.

There are almost no online .be stores. Belgium is 50% dutch 50% french and holland is 100% dutch and 1,5x bigger than belgium (Target audience 6.000.000 vs 16.000.000 or so i think). Also holland has a more mature 'online shopping scene'. So all the online stores for belgium customers were registered in holland because the belgian market is scattered and there is no such thing as a 'belgian customer' (also VAT is lower in holland Wink). The dutch speaking shop in .nl and the french speaking shop on .fr sites.

Buying them in belgium is not an option. We have higher VAT and some stupid taxes that we pay because they suppose we use those cds for piracy purposes, so we pay in advance a share that goes tot intelectual property organisations. So no online store (not competitive anyway) and only expensive retail sellers -> Prices are nuts, you pay double/3double for cds in supermarkets, i dont need a crappy 10 pack of jewelcased or DVDcased disks. I need bulk 100 shrinkwraps. If you need them here, i have to drive to a big distributor which costs me 10-20euro and prices are always 10-20% higher than in online stores from outside belgium.

Ok, why am i saying this? I used to shop in .nl sites, at very competitive prices and let the disks be shipped by DHL/UPS.... But a year ago a law was implemented that disallowed the final customer of blank media (CDR/DVDR) to import cds from other EU countries (because everyone was importing them from Holland, luxemburg, germany). So im quite running out of options... It is ok to import them to belgium as a retail seller and to sell them via a real store in belgium to the final customer. So i was thinking about using the VAT number of the baby store my gf's parents have... Importing using their VAT number and being their only customer for the cds Laughing But you know, it is not what we can call 'an ideal situation'

so i was thinking about doing what syco said. I only need to know a company that sells in US$ or any other crappy oversea curreny, JPY or so, lets me pay via VISA and ships to Belgium Smile

Well my gf lives close to the .nl border and in the past i used to order them in belgium, let them ship to a post office in .nl and pick them up with the car. But it costs money.... So i am trying to figure out what is possible to get it cheaper than i get them now, and with a weak $ it should work. It would be ideal to get them shipped to belgium, but if it proves to be 30euros cheaper than ordering them here, i can send it to .nl and pick them up when i am at my gf's place. And you could say 'go get them in .nl then'. But im just trying to figure out what the cheapest method is Smile

wont you end up with some customs tax if you order from abroad anyway? it might end up more expensive unless you get lucky.
unless you have a US friend who will ship them as a GIFT with no invoice

I would ship it to you providing you pay for the shipping. If customs asks I'll just say its a gift. It may be a little extra shipping this way but you would still save money in the end.
