I swear, its like I have a period cycle, but with sleeping.
My monthly insomnia is back. Cant fuckin sleep at all. I toss and turn and ive taken enough painkillers and sedatives that I should be out like a light (my doc told me to, im not self medicating).
I fuckin hate insomnia. Its not bad during the day, but i night i feel like i should be sleeping and it pisses me off. Cause I get tired at night, but not enough to sleep. During the day while i have insomnia im more alert and my eyes arent as blurry.
Anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to keep myself occupied?
Ive got a few HD Star trek movies im gunna watch, gunna play some computer games after i watch a movie or 2 then, if i cant sleep still, im gunna play some more gta.
Any other idea's?

I feel for you man.
I had a bit of a that the last few weeks with not sleeping. I haven't had bad sleeping problems before at all so I know it will go way with time. I think it was because I stopped a medication.
For me I have a hot relaxing bath with nice and not too strong smelling stuff. I also have a cup of hot milk (sometimes cinnomon, I think you told me that) When I go to sleep, I think relaxing thoughts about how my muscles are relaxing one by one and about heavy eye lids.
I also stick a pillow on the top of my face to keep my eyelids closed and the bit of pressure on my head feels good. I have a pillow under my legs as well and pillows on each side to prop up my arms. I sleep on my back.
This seems to be the only way I can get some good shut eye. I need lots of pillows when I sleep but none of them are under my head. LOL

I take a hot shower usually and like you, sleep with a pillow covering my eyes so they stay shut.
But fuck, its not working tonite. Its like 3:20am here. I know im gunna be up for atleast 2 or 3 days. I hoping its not gunna be a four day stretch.
I called my dad and he's gunna bring over some really heavy duty painkillers before work and Im gunna see if they knock me out. Combined with being tired, it should be enough to allow me to get atleast 4 hours of sleep.
I hate not sleeping. Makes me pissed off and annoyed. Everything bothers me you know?
Sucks

I can't drink milk, I get massive stomach cramps.
So I just get on with it. I rarely get more than Four hours of sleep per night.

Are you lactose intolerant?
See the thing is, I like my sleep. I like sleeping atleast 10 hours a day if i can. thats what Ive done since i was 12. about a year or 2 ago when my sleeping problems started, ive been getting 4 or 5 a nite and its not enough for me. Im always fatigued
On rare occasions (usually sundays for some reason), I'll go to bed at say 3am Sunday and wake up at 3pm Sunday. Those are the kinda sleeps i like. nice long, deep, relaxing sleeps.
I rarely get those anymore. Unless im heavily sedated and i dont wanna have to sedate myself to fall asleep every nite.

Remember you sleep less as you get older.
I could be slightly lactose intolerant. But I'm not sure. It just happens with milk. If I eat cheese or other dairy products I'm fine. Its been like that since I was a kid. Eating cereal before school and I'd be doubled over because of it. I just avoid milk now. I don't like tea or coffee so its not really a problem. Although I love cereal once in a while. I should try soya milk, maybe I'll be okay with that.

Holy shit, this is my story too.
cheeses are OK, but pure milk cleans my entrails right away.

I'd hate not being able to drink milk. I love milk. drink roughly 4L's a day. Its the best drink imo.
But I prefer my coffee with cream, not milk. Milk makes it taste weird to me. Cream for tea or coffee for me.
Soya Milk tastes like shit imo. My parents drink it and ive had it numerous times. fuckin tastes like a nasty vanilla milk shake

Yeah. I remember reading the papers a few years ago. This guy drank 10 pints of milk per day. He died of a heart attack at 32. When they opened him up they said he had the heart of a 70 year old.

damn, thats bad.
but according to my doctor, my milk intake is fine. I get routine checkups all the time for everything. Im in perfect health, aside from an anxiety disorder and a sleeping disorder
The anxiety is going away tho. I wish my sleep would get back into a normal flow tho.
My doc told me to take 2 extra sedatives and one extra painkiller and that should help put me to sleep along with my sleeping medication. Well, Im still up.
But the dumb fuck wont give me emergency sleeping pills. For times like this. I asked her for only 10. So when I have a bout of insomnia, i can sleep and get my pattern back more quickly than just waiting till my body is completely drained you know?

Well, I took 4 40mg oxy's....i should be asleep in about 2 hours if they work like normal and my insomnia doesnt over power it.
Thats what they do. They take an hour to kick in, takes away pain (my knee's), then about an hour or an hour and a half later you get really drowsy and sleep nicely.
God I hope that happens *prays*

Eat heathy foods, exercise and have nothing that has caffeine in it in the day. It could be your daily intake and health thats making you not sleep. Not saying your unhealthy or not eating the right foods but just trying to help from my experience.
I like bum.

naw man, ive been doing all the right things since this shit began. Before i was put on meds i had to change my eating habits, cut out caffeine and any other type of stimulants. didnt work so my doc (and a few other docs) put me on meds.
I havent been excercising alot recently, but i still go for a walk during the day. a long hour walk.
I should start workin out more, gettin a bit of a belly, but it wont solve my sleep problem. Ive tried workin out really hard and all it did was drain more energy and not put me to sleep.
thanks for the suggestion tho

yeah man, ive tried every natural remedy you can think of. tea's, warm milk and brown sugar (ala watergem), warm milk, workin out, watching boring shows, laying in the dark for hours, listening to ambient sounds (have a station that plays ambient tracks on my tv) etc
Usually my meds work, but once every 3 or 4 weeks, im up for 2-4 days.
Tho, I think the pills i took are gunna put me to sleep. Im high right now, but I can feel it. In an hour or two, Im gunna be ready to sleep the day away (and nite hopefully, been up for 24 hours now)

sex keeps me awake actually. I feel refreshed after a good session you know? Im ready to do other things and am in a positive mood.
If i fuck when im tired, then its a different story, i fall right asleep afterward.
But alas, I have no current girlfriend to fuck every nite before bed like i used to. Dont get me wrong, i get laid, but its not like I have a wife anymore you know?
My exwife and I used to have alot of sex before bed. She'd sleep like a baby afterward, as would i. it was quite a workout.
Still, I did all the work, she just took it...fuckin cunt. Thats one thing I dont miss about my exwife, the sex. It was like fuckin a carpet, she just laid/bent over there you know?
Im gunna try and relax now and let the pills do they're job. I already feel like im floating so sleep cant be to far off. everytime i feel like im floating i end up sleeping after it wears off.
and it feels good and relaxing the floating that is.
You know when your whole body is tingly and it feels like your gliding around (like as im typing my hands feel like they are gliding through air, love it), thats how it is right now.
But I cant take these pills every day so I need to find a better solution. Or rather, i cant take as many as i took
EDIT
@MR
I live in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area). So a city to say the least

Lol, you're exactly my opposite. I hate sleeping for too long. 7-8 hours of sleep is exactly what I need. I like it when I wake up at sunrise, I know I got the whole day left for me. But when I wake up at 12+ I know that half the day already passed. Kind of a bummer.

Was your wife Polish by any chance? Cuz that's what they say about the Polish women around here.
That reminds me of a joke -
Q: How can you cause a Polish woman to scream in the bed?
A: Wipe your dick with the curtains.

Feel for you man also. This is psychologic based. You wont get rid of it trought night or week. This is gathering in our bodies for years or decades, cureing it also take years. You have to think positive, occupy yourselfe with sport, healty food....
I know that you already know this, but it really have to change lifestyle for long period of time to feel resaults. My GF also have this, but now it is ok.
About milk : Naturally milk will last few days. These days, milk in strores have long last duration. I heard that this milk is squirt trough tiny pouts to break molecule to smaller parts. Resaults is that milk last longer, but humans stomacks cannot digest it. So this could be the reason for trouble you have or you are just have allergy.
Sorry for my english, cant explain it better.

I've had serious sleeping problems over the last 3 months.
But the thing is even if I've slept say 3-4 hours, i get up for work, and through the rest of the day I've still loads of energy.
