Not sure if this deserved its own thread, but....

Quote:
NEW YORK – Warren Jenson, the chief financial officer of Electronic Arts Inc. since 2002, is leaving the video game publisher.

EA did not give a reason for Jenson's departure; a spokeswoman said Monday it was a "mutual decision" between him and chief executive John Riccitiello.

EA plans to announce a new CFO "shortly." Jenson will stay to help the company close its fiscal year, which ends this month.

Redwood City, Calif.-based EA has offered to buy "Grand Theft Auto" publisher Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. in a $2 billion (U.S.) tender offer that expires April 11.

No official reason given, but it might be something to do with the failed hostile takeover of Take2.

Also, listening to Take2's latest conference call, they got very cagey when asked about the ONE triple A title that Rockstar have in development for 2009. They implied that they only had one title in the works for 2009, but one title was all they'd need.

Since Crysis, EA can quite rightfully take a long walk down a short pier.

The CFO probably realized what a bunch of twats he was working for Wink

This is from Wikipedia: Laughing

On August 15, 2007 it was revealed that IP addresses registered to EA had made changes to its Wikipedia entry favoring EA.[33][34] The changes made included downplaying the importance of the founder of EA, Trip Hawkins, as well as playing up the importance of former CEO, Larry Probst.[33] Other changes included attempts to remove information regarding the infamous EA Spouse scandal, which involved the poor treatment of workers. In addition, several paragraphs under criticism were removed completely. [33]

EA's response was that "Many companies routinely post updates on websites like Wikipedia to ensure accuracy of their own corporate information."[35] It did not, however, address the specifics of the changes.

Dear god, editing wiki and bragging about how great EA games are Laughing there is no low enough for ea is there, every time they manage to go even lower, they are threw the center of the earth and will pop up in China any time now. Lies like these are the reason they sell their crappy game to kids anyway and because of huge amounts of marketing too, if you go to wikipedia now it's mostly insults and criticism on ea's account I guess they locked that page out it so ea can't change it anymore Laughing

There was no mention of L.A. Noire, but the direct quote was:

There'd be at least one [unspecified] major, triple A rated sequel coming out of Rockstar in 2009.

and Mafia 2 was mentioned by name, so that isn't it.

not long ago EA called "us" players too dumb to follow current games and they have to make them easier (or something in that direction anyway).

I should pass by the EA office here once, and tell them what i and most others think of them lol.

Electronic Arts today announced that Eric Brown will fill EA's recently vacated CFO office on April 14.

Brown, who served at software company McAfee as CFO and COO, replaces former CFO Warren Jenson, who announced his departure from Electronic Arts earlier this week. Jenson will stay on in an advisory capacity to help Brown transition into the role.
