If your friends dvd players don't place vcd/svcd you're going to have to re-encode the mpg files.
The simplest way is with tmpgenc using its wizard then author the new files to dvd with something like tmpgenc dvd author.
You'll get ok results with these but not great results
You should find tuts on everything you need to do at www.vcdhelp.com or www.doom9.org

Here's the thing i want to do...for example, im downloading The.Forgotten.SVCD.TELESYNC-maVen cause Julianne Moore is fuckin hot. Its 2 cd's. sometimes im using VCD Gear to convert the bin/cue into mpg's so i want to know how i can "glue" together the 2 mpg's to make one big mpg to make a full DVD.
Or is there a prog that do it himself? Like you select both bin/cues or mpg's and convert them to be played back to back without having the movie to stop to select the "2nd CD"

you can use the mpeg tools section of tmpgenc to join the mpg files together,
you can also use dvd lab to author a dvd from the mpeg files without having to join them
but if your friends dvd player doesn't play vcd/svcd's making a dvd out of the larger file without reencoding it wont work.
Just because you've put the mpg files on a dvd disk doesn't mean your friends player will now play them, they are still svcd mpeg files not dvd mpeg files.
Its possible to make a dvd of svcd mpegs without reencoding, but they will only work on players that play svcd.
Sometimes if a player plays vcd but not svcd you can rewrite the svcd header to a vcd header and the track will play ok, but I've found that only works about 50% of the time.

to burn the mpg to work in all dvd players you will have to reencode it first
the easiest encoders to do this for someone starting out are tmpgenc or Canopus 2, they are fairly slow at encoding but a doddle to use if you use their wizards.
Once you have the new mpg file you'll need to author it into dvd format, tmpgence dvd author is a good starting out authoring package,
once you've done these two steps you can burn with nero or most burning progs

Well i used TMPGEnc Plus 2.5 to merge them and work like a charm but when i tried to make a DVD with it it says that the resolution is too small so i reencode it with TMPGEnc Plus 2.5 in DVD NTSC (MPEG-2 720x480 23,976fps CBR 3900kbps, Layer-2 48000Hz 384kbps) but god damn, it takes forever...more then 5 hours.
But alot of people told me that TMPGEnc DVD Author makes a crappy job for the encoding/burning..is this true and if it is what prog should i use to encode my mpeg-2 in DVD format and burn it to get good quality?

First, mount the image(s) then use VCDEasy to convert *.dat to true mpg. Then, like he said use DVD-lab. It's easy.

why do all that. If you already have them converted to mpeg then join the two files together into one and use a free program called VSO Divx2DVD. Actually the new version will allow you to choose both mpegs (just make sure that they are in the right order) and tell it where to put the files and it will convert both mpegs into one DVD in under 1 hour and the quality is great. I have converted over 200 movies using this program and they have all played in my standalone players. But then again I have players that will play everything.
The following is a list of players that usually will play everything you throw at them:
Apex
Mintek
Coby
Cyberhome
Phillips MVP 642
Norcent.
Most ppl will find that the least expensive models work better than the high priced big name players.

DVD Achitect 3 (made by sony) is the best progam 4 mpg's. The way it works is: open up ur media, customize the menu, and click a button. The quality is near perfection, concidering profection is practically unatainable.
It converts, compresses, and burns all in one.
It takes about 2 hrs for every 700mb file and about 1 and a half to burn,(It varies depending on ur system) but quality is ur sweet reward.
retail it costs about $700.00, BUT u should b able to find it on the net, its pretty saught after. Go 2 www.sonymediasoftware.com and learn more about it.
also I think it was released by the SSG team, but probably not the only release.
from my experience it dosn't accept xvid, but maybe thats just me?
Hope this helps
