Any chance that the pubDate time could be incremented for each item on the RSS feeds?

eg:
Code:

Alvin And The Chipmunks (2007) *DVDRiP* - ARROW

...

Paranoid Park (2007) *LIMITED* *R5* - UNIVERSAL

...

instead of using 00:00:00 for each item?

Thanks!

Actually, thinking about it, I meant incremented for each item each day, so there's an easy way to tell what's new.

eg:
item 10 - day z - pub time 00:00:03
item 09 - day z - pub time 00:00:02
item 08 - day z - pub time 00:00:01
item 07 - day z - pub time 00:00:00
item 06 - day y - pub time 00:00:01
item 05 - day y - pub time 00:00:00
item 04 - day x - pub time 00:00:01
item 03 - day x - pub time 00:00:00
...

hmm.. i see what you are getting at. but sad thing is that we atm.. dont add stuff by the minute.. and quite frankly barely by the hour.. so i dont really see the need for this?

if something is in the first 10 items its most likely less than 6 hrs from pre.. dunno what your reasons are that could warrant for this change? its not like you need it for 0sec precheck.. heh

I just have a program that checks rss feeds every X hours, it determines what's new by checking the pubDate of items on the list versus the last 'marked seen' seen pubDate.

So if I mark new items seen at ... 8 am in the morning (and there's a release that day) i get:
Tue, 26 Feb 2008 00:00:00 +0100
if I check again at 8 pm, and there 3 more releases that day, they still have the:
Tue, 26 Feb 2008 00:00:00 +0100 which is not greater than the Tue, 26 Feb 2008 00:00:00 +0100 i have stored as the last seen date.

They don't show up as new and I have too cry myself to sleep eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches when I find out later.

I imagine there's no actual time stored, and I I'm not looking for any accuracy, just times that are greater for more recent items.

Sweet! Thanks guys!

Now I imagine you'll have 5 posts from other people, stating they want the 00:00:00 times back. Heh.
