Yet still not a single gameplay video, only teasers bits. Another SotS2 clusterfuck incoming, methinks
Seen this one, it's teaser gameplay - a few seconds of this and a few seconds of that. Can't get the whole picture on how game will play, pacing, AI, etc.
The only gameplay video showing someone trying to play the game is German one, I posted before. But at forums PR says it's from alpha build and doesn't resemble the current build.
Most definitely, I just hope that it's not another Sword of The Stars 2 launch, apart from that though I like how they used the Ascendency planetary management and the real time terraforming of planets. Not to mention what looks to be great ship design and customization.

It was enough for me to snag the discounted price through Steam.
Let's see if this is the one that sucks me into spending days playing it. Endless Space was not.
Just curious, what didn't you like about Endless Space?
I think I was just over hyped about it, and so it didn't lived up to my expectations.
I was expecting just more: more planetary interaction, more diplomatic options, more universe exploration. More.
While there was different kinds of planets, and researching was necessary to unlock colonization on them, when you've seen one, you've seen all. They were all the same, apart from the superficial characteristics. Or in another words, it was shallow in that matter.
As for the exploration, is what I mentioned above concerning the planets plus there was no real incentive to explore, just to colonize more planets.
The diplomacy was also shallow. I expected something more dynamic, instead of the: you're far way from us, therefore we are friends. You're close to us, therefore we are enemies.
As for research, it felt bland. Can't really explain. Just that apart from the colonization technologies, every thing else felt it was just filling.
And for combat, I didn't even tried it. Card based combat? Just didn't appealed to me, so I just stuck to auto-resolve.
Oh, and the AI. Cheating AI to be specific. While I can be wrong on this of course, it felt just that is was cheating. Maybe it wasn't, but if it gives you that feeling, something is wrong.
Seems it supports DX11, wasn't expecting to see it used here but it's nice that it is taken advantage of.
EDIT: Ah it's the "Ogre" engine.
EDIT: Aha so you can re-enable DX11 but it's not in a working state so that's why it's disabled even though the base engine supports it, FSAA could be enabled though.
