If this is indeed true, its awesome! Its good that its back in Bioware hands. Obsidian did an ok job with KOTOR2 but it still wasn't comparable to the first.

I assume you played the first game first ?

I played KOTOR 2 and then the original, my opinion is the exact opposite. The second game is a lot more epic, deep and without some very very "weak" situations that the original had.

Imho kotor2 was pretty awful maybe because kotor1 set a very high standard. I knew that ea would 'force' these guys to make kotor3, probably 4 and 5 as well, they probably saw the sales and popularity charts, I can only hope that ps2 version doesn't come out cause the pc will get stuck with that instead of next-gen.

kotor 2 was a good (gameplay) continuation of the first kotor, but didnt came near story wise ..
i mean seriously, who didnt know at the very beginning, that the old bitch will eventually be the big boss lol. Plus the story was cut nearing the end, skipping all over the place and missing a lot of parts . But still, both kotors are jewels and i hope the 3rd will continue the saga.

Now i remember, that old fucking bitch is the reason I hated that god-awful game, worst character EVER!! Whenever you talked with someone that old bitch would sneak up and say "don't talk to her, you are the chosen one" or "you are wasting your time talking to lesser beings than yourself" I swear it was like playing a game and your mother was behind you commenting or saying bullshit one-liners, I mean who wants to play a game with his mother behind his back all the time, thanks for ruining the game for me BITCH!!

I don't understand all the people complaining about KOTOR2, it was an extremely enjoyable game, no different to the first. Maybe my opinion is so different because I never even once thought to myself it was missing something (although it's impossible in any thread relating to the game not to know about the cuts). Also; most games involve cuts, so do films, books and other media - it's kind of part and parcel of the process and it didn't destroy the game so I really don't see why people harp on about it so much?

As for the old bitch, I had my inklings from the beginning but the narrative was such that it was never really a big deal. Games like Mafia are full of clichés (in this case stolen from films) but we still love them.

I'm happy about the prospect of KOTORIII, but I'd like to see something more freeform and less linear.

I also played KOTOR2 before KOTOR1, and for me both were great, what can I say I'm a sucker for SW Smile I can't wait to see what will the third part look like...

with "cuts" we are referring to the absence of several story lines of several characters nearing the end. Videos that got left out of the game for time reasons, and whole scenes left out for the same reason. at least the last third of the game is incomplete storywise. But despite that, kotor 2 was still fun, and i dont think anyone denies that .

...and I'm saying it had never occured to me whilst playing it that this stuff was cut. It's absence wasn't felt in my case and I believe people are getting the panties in a twist simply because they know, rather than through any fault of the game itself - but that's just based on my own experience.

Seems like there's been a bit of mess up, this title is not in development according to EA.

Well, Surfer Girls insists that it's in production and he/she's been right many times before...

Also "are not necessarily under development at this time" ain't the same as "not under development"

They may say it's not in development but it is. Maybe a couple months from now they will announce it but it surly is in development. EA games loves to make sequels.

It was never confirmed. People only thought that it would be star wars mmo because there was news of Bioware doing an mmo and Bioware and LucasArts agreeing on new star wars game. It apears that those are two different projects.

Anyway, I'm very glad that there are two projects. I was afraid they would do a Blizzard on us.

That's only a rumor, hopefully. I don't care about a KOTOR MMO, I want KOTOR 3! Twisted Evil I like both games, even though I'm not a SW fan but these games are great RPGs. Cool

KOTOR 2 was rushed, the ending kinda falls flat as a result. But it was made by Obsidian to pump money into the starting-up company (made from a Bioware offshoot employee afaik?!).

We really don't know if it is a mmo. We won't know until Lucas Arts wants to show us what have been hiding behind doors.

True, it might also be a Star-Wars MMO but set in the "Knigthts of the old Republic" timeline and not specifically KotOR 3 as such. Smile
