I know about the CD rips having a lot ripped out of them and all however these DVD rips are new to me. Do they have anything missing from them like the CD versions? Is it truly impossible to backup the originals?

Its allways worth reading the NFO.

They should say what has been removed.

If you mean DVD9 - DVD4 rips then they usually dont have anything major ripped (demo's / non-english stuff) and sometimes downsampled movies / sound.

Yeah I've checked the NFOs for some of them and a few don't have any lists of anything being took out.
Do DVDRs have less storage then regular PS2 DVDs? I do not see why anything should be took out at all and I'm wondering about it.

well a pressed DVD (retail) is dule layer and capable of around 9gigs

a DVDr (single layer) is about 4.5 gig

Duel Layer DVDr's are starting to appear, but are still to pricey for most and usually requier a new burner.

ah right, I have heard about there being 2 versions of MGS Substance and Devil May Cry 2 about- one full and one on 2 discs. Do most PS2 games not use the full capacity of the disc so they are available normally?
