|
 |
on win2k and vista i could just use windows own sharing system via "my network" but with xp > xp i just cant seem to get it to work i get some bollox error msg about me not having permission even though as far as im concerned everything is set up right.
on vista i didnt even have to change anything other than the workgroup name, so ive gave up trying to fix it.
does anyone know any good programs for sharing files over a lan? my ideal solution would be like an FTP server which works on lan only that i could just connect to with flashfxp if thats possible
both computers share the same internet connection so i want something lan only rather than some program that might try and use my internet connection to send the file over.

Haha, that's funny, XP worked great for me but Vista was being a little bitch with its sharing. In XP I just went to the folder I wanted to share and went to properties and selected sharing, and BOOM the folder popped up in the other computer's network places. Vista on the other hand required multiple restarts and checkboxes and name changing.

You just have to enable sharing in the Network Center and that's it. Then, just like XP, you share folders and you have them shared. No restarts, no hustles.
