if the processor will cost as AMD usually cost these days, then this wouldn't be such a bad idea. I was thinking of upgrading myself, but I couldn't decide between BE 5000, or BE 6400...

Are these the failed Phenom quad cores with one die disabled? Otherwise i don't see socket 939 for them SpykeZ, are you sure they will be released for it? Confused

lol! I meant I'm still rocking my 939 board. When upgrade it'll be to a phenom board. but ya, I believe these are the chips that one failed in quad core so they disable it and sell it as an X3 so they don' thave to throw away a chip wasting money.

Alright, thus if you have to change you mobo + ram sticks (for ddr2), will you really want to take an AM2+ upgrade path? :/ Rather go I... oops. Wink

lol phenoms use the same AM2 socket and im sure they will for a while. I never buy into a CPU on the first one. I waited till the 4400 at least on my current X2. I'll see how they go against the 6000+ before I upgrade to em.

i got a 6000+ for 110 euros , seriously considering if i should even upgrade , since this one is blazing fast and i wouldnt know where i would require more speed or even notice it , to think of ppl spending + $1000 on a desktop CPU...

If you got a 6000+ your good for the next couple years if your PC is mainly for games. My 4400+ has still yet to be shamed by anything and even now im not entirely sure if it's worth upgrading yet which is why im waiting for the info on the x3's to come out. But ya, 6000+ your good for a while. If a game requires 3GHz on the CPU then its mainly directed at the P4 3.0ghz

Yeah, i got a 6000+ too and i won't be upgrading for a while. Don't see the need to get a quad core processor yet.
